China’s Meizu MX2 Smartphone Announced – “Super-Retina” Display, Quad-Core, 2GB of RAM and Jelly Bean

Could this be the ultimate Android superphone? In terms of specs and at least on paper, it very well could be. Unfortunately for us Americans, it won’t be coming anytime soon. The Meizu MX2 features a 4.4″ 16:10 “Super Retina” display, as well as a beefy quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. If that isn’t enough, how about the fully back-illuminated 8MP shooter, equipped with 5 high-end optical lenses. If software is more your thing, the MX2 comes running Jelly Bean, complete with a custom skin called Flyme 2.0, which will remind many of the custom MIUI ROM’s that we used to feature.

As the cherry on top, it also features wireless display support, as well as a suite of cloud-based applications and services to go along with the custom Android build. As for the price, you’re looking at just 2,499 yuan, which when converted directly equals to just about $500. Not bad, right?

I could get down on this instantly if it came here to the U.S.
