Department of Justice Seizes Three Well Known Android Piracy Sites

The above image is what will greet you upon arrival to three very well-known and popular Android app piracy sites. In a presser from the Department of Justice, this is only the beginning. The three sites seized by the DoJ are applanet.net, appbucket.net and snappzmarket.com. They will remain in the custody of the federal government until swift, yet deserved justice has been served.

During the investigation, FBI agents downloaded thousands of pirated apps and issued nine separate search warrants spanning six districts in this country alone. As we all know, piracy is an issue that developers face, especially on an open platform such as Android. We should thank these crime fighters for assuring developers that their work won’t become victimized now or in the future.

Support the developers, folks!
