AT&T Will Also Carry Samsung’s 5G Phone Next Year

Not to be outdone, AT&T announced this week that it will carry Samsung’s 5G smartphone, the same one that was teased by Verizon earlier this week.

In total, AT&T now has two 5G devices planned, with its actual 5G network still penciled in for unveiling before the year’s end. According to AT&T, they also worked with Samsung on the first 5G Innovation Zone to test important business use cases for 5G. Detailed in the press release, “The goal is to use 5G to enable new capabilities with the Internet of Things (IoT) and to better understand the impact of 5G.”

Considering this device will launch on both AT&T and Verizon, and AT&T specifically called it a smartphone, it seems like a safe bet that this the 5G-ready Galaxy device that was reported last month.

It’s getting exciting now.
