Expect LG V40 to Launch in October, Feature Triple Rear Cameras

According to a new report out of South Korea, we can expect LG’s V40 ThinQ to launch around early October in Korea. Whether that means we will see it in the US that same time is unclear, but my money is on V40 ThinQ being available globally around mid-October.

The report says LG specifically planned this release to be about a month behind Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9, just to ease competition between the two firms.

For features, it’s reported the device will feature a triple rear camera setup, as well as a dual camera system on front that allows for 3D facial recognition. This info aligns with a previous report that spoke of 5 cameras being present on the V40 back in June. Additionally, the design is said to be nearly bezel-less, which is similar to what LG did on last year’s V30 and this year’s G7.

As for when we will see this phone unveiled, the report says LG will host its own event around mid-September and we shouldn’t expect to see it at IFA 2018. This year, IFA runs from August 31 to September 5, so if the report is accurate, we’ll see it shortly after.

V40 ThinQ is already getting me excited with talks of a triple camera and 3D facial tech. Bring it on, LG.
