Verizon’s Xperia Z3v and Xperia Z2 Tablet Both Get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Owners of the Sony Xperia Z3v and Xperia Z2 Tablet should be on the lookout for an update over the coming days. Verizon posted changelogs of updates for each device, stating that they should each be receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Honestly, I haven’t kept up with either, but a couple of quick searches on the Google machine suggest that the Xperia Z3v is just now receiving Lollipop with this update and never did see 5.0, 5.0.1, or 5.0.2. Is that correct? If so, woof.

This Android 5.1.1 update for the Xperia Z3v will arrive as software version 23.4.B.0.319.  The update will introduce HD Voice to the phone, the “latest” in Android security patches, new setup wizard, “lots of new visual themes,” floating action buttons everywhere, new volume controls, an updated Sony UI, enhanced lock screen, and more Verizon app integration.

As for the Z2 Tablet, we are looking at software version 23.4.B.0.319, which has to be a typo because that’s what the Z3v is getting. In fact, the whole changelog for this device seems off, with mentions of Android 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 and the same software as the Z3v. Weird.

Let us know if you see the update?
