Sony issued a release today on its official blog, stating that Android 4.3 “Jelly Bean,” is now rolling out to Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra devices around the globe. We don’t have many Sony device owners here, but should at least get the message out for anyone that might be concerned. This morning, Sony discussed its plans to update several devices to Android 4.3, and a few devices to Android 4.4. As for Jelly Bean, it appears that Sony should have the Android 4.3 update available for seven different devices within the next month, which includes the Xperia Z, ZL, Z Ultra, and even the Tablet Z. After much anticipation and leaked information on the device, Sony took the stage this morning in Berlin to officially unveil the Xperia Z1 smartphone. The device features a waterproof design, packed with some of today’s top tier specifications. For starters, the Z1 smartphone features a 5″ 1080 TRILUMINOS display, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM, plus a massive 3,000mAh battery. (more…)
Sony is taking the stage at their IFA press conference in Berlin this very minute to announce all of their new products for the upcoming holiday season. Since Sony is more than just a mobile tech company, this may be more than just phones and camera lens accessories, but for our purposes, we’ll be focused on what we expect to be the announcement of the Sony Xperia Z1 (full specs and details) and “Lens-style Camera” QX10 and QX100 attachments (full specs and details) for smartphones.
Details of both products have leaked numerous times already (lens-style cameras now on Amazon), but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other secrets for Sony to reveal. For one, we would love to hear specifics on a U.S. launch, something Sony can’t seem to manage to pull off even after all these years. (more…)
Sorry, Sony – the Internet has successfully leaked all of your goodies that were set to be shown off during tomorrow’s press conference. Earlier today, both of Sony’s camera lens-style devices were leaked, and now it appears to be time for the Xperia Z1. What should get some excited is that according to the press release, Sony is expecting a global launch in September, but no real confirmation if the US can hope to get in on any of that action. On September 4, Sony is set to take the stage and unveil its latest smartphone achievement, the rumored Xperia Z1 aka Honami device. We have seen leaks and rumors for the Honami for some time, but this is some of the first official looks we are getting at the device.
