Weren’t buying into the hypebeasting of the Motorola X Phone, the company’s ultra-secret, next big smartphone? Does an official job posting for a position as the Senior Director Product Management for the phone make you a believer? The posting went up last night and includes the name and everything, just peek at a piece of the job description above. (more…)
Brace yourself, the hypebeasting is about to commence. A bit of info was handed to us a by a long time reader and we’re not really sure what to make of it. What we do know, is that one of [redacted] forum members who has long been a source of Motorola information, posted up the details about the “X” phone that is said to be Moto’s next big release. We thought we’d share, even if it does sound way too good to be true. Feel free to attack it, poke holes in it, drool over it, or daydream about a life with this phone in this sort of scenario. Again, it’s been flagged as a “wild rumor” on purpose. (more…)
With 2012 behind us, it only makes sense that we start looking ahead in an attempt to prepare ourselves for what’s to come. CES ended with little bang, so that means we have Mobile World Congress, CTIA, Google I/O, IFA, and stand-alone press events left to bring us the real goods. Will we see Motorola’s “X” phone and be blown away? Can HTC make a comeback with the next line of One Series phones (assuming they continue that line)? Will LG really introduce new Nexus devices? Or does it all really just come down to whatever Samsung and Google tell us to buy in late Spring or early Summer?
You tell us what you are most looking forward to and why.
For me personally, it’s all about that Motorola “X” phone and then whatever it is that Google decides to surprise us with at I/O, which of course could be the “X” phone. Samsung and the Galaxy S4 will undoubtedly be all over our radar, but Motorola remains the big question mark here. This is the “new” Moto after all, so hopefully “new” means awesome.
In the comments section for the article we just posted about this rumored Google/Motorola X Phone, people are already setting up their wishlist in terms of what they want to see with the device. People are hoping for 4G LTE, a large battery, high resolution displays, and of course, an unlockable bootloader.
We decided to throw up this post to give people a proper place to start throwing out ideas for what they need to see in this device. As for the DL team, we have our hopes on a flexible display, the best camera to ever grace a smartphone, a move towards premium materials rather than the plastics we often see, and let’s throw in that Tegra 4 while you’re at it.
Let’s hear your ideas for the X Phone!
According to a new report out of the Wall Street Journal, Google and Motorola are finally working on their first big project, a “marquee” product known internally as the “X Phone.” The major goal of this phone, clearly, is to create something that can finally rival products from Samsung and Apple, but also try to help bring Motorola back from the dead. With an increasingly shrinking market share, Moto is in desperate need of a big hit. (more…)
