I know this LG V20 review should have been out months ago, but hey, better late than never, right? Actually, as you’ll find out in the video below, the V20 has just been one of the tougher phones to review. It’s not that LG hasn’t done some good things here, it’s just that the V20 comes off as such a niche device with a small audience that the approach to reviewing it had to be figured out too. Either way, it’s here, our LG V20 review. (more…)
Before we tell you what our pick for Android phone of the year (POTY) is, we want to hear from you first.
In 2016, we saw a ton of great devices released from a large assortment of makers, making this quite a unique list. To give you an example of that, the ZTE-made Axon 7 will be found, the first time a ZTE phone has even be a contender in the POTY category.
Naturally, all the big names are here, too, including the latest from Moto, Samsung, HTC, and LG. However, you will see that the Galaxy Note 7 is not listed, you know, because of the recall. And if you think we totally botched this and are missing the best option, feel free to vote “Other” and let us know int he comments.
Looking for a good deal on a multi-phone purchase? Verizon is currently running a “buy one, get one 50% off” promo for its top Android phones. The list of devices includes Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and the LG V20.
To get the deal, the fine print says you need to buy the first phone on a device payment plan, which then gets you “50% instant discount on full retail price of 2nd device of equal or lesser value.” The deal is only valid for a “limited time.”
If you recently picked up a LG V20, don’t forget to redeem your free pair of B&O PLAY earphones. LG’s offer of free earphones lasts until November 20, so even if you were planning on picking up a V20 this weekend or the following, you are in great shape. The offer expires on December 9, 2016, meaning you will want to redeem the promo before that date. (more…)
The LG V20 is now available from Verizon’s online shop. The phone of “stuff and things” (in a good way) can be had for as little as $28 per month from Big Red, which is the cheapest price you’ll find from any carrier at the moment.
On a related note, since we’re already at October 20 on the east coast, that means Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL are now officially available from Verizon as well. Unlike the V20, you can walk into a Verizon store today/tomorrow and buy the Pixel or its bigger brother. Also, if you pre-ordered your device should be arriving throughout the day if it hasn’t already.
Which of these three are you going with?
Verizon announced earlier this week that online availability of the LG V20 begins tomorrow (Thursday, October 20), while in-store availability starts up on October 27. However, Verizon failed to deliver pricing, until now.
Verizon states that the full retail price of the V20 will be $672, or $28 a month on a payment plan with approved credit. To compare, full retail of the V20 at AT&T is listed at $829.99, while T-Mobile has it for $769.99. As you can see, that’s quite the range in pricing. (more…)
