Slices for Twitter – Making Streams More Manageable, Live Events Easier to Follow, and Favorite Topics Accessible

by: | posted 08.02.12 | Apps, News

The OneLouder Apps team introduced a new Twitter client today, called Slices for Twitter. After seeing success with their other social apps like TweetCaster and BaconReader, they decided that your Twitter experience could be even simpler or more involved, depending on how you want to approach it.

Slices is for both beginner and advanced users who want to easily discover likable new content, browse the Twitter world by category (live events, celebs, music, etc.), bookmark favorite accounts, and synchronize it all between web and mobile device.

SportsCaster Released to Help Feed Your Sports and Twitter Addictions

If you had been looking for a way to follow the top sports analysts, players and fans that are having discussions via Twitter during a particular NFL or NCAA football game, then SportsCaster is the app for you.  Made by the same folks who created TweetCaster, this app gives fans a “personalized, real-time source of sports commentary.”  So instead of having to sift through your Twitter feed to find relevant conversations between like-minded fans and personalities, you can find it all aggregated in one app.  I’m liking this idea.

App currently supports NFL and NCAA football.  Basketball, hockey, and baseball to come.

TweetCaster HD Beta for Honeycomb Released

by: | posted 05.25.11 | Apps, News

It may have taken almost 3 months, but we’re now starting to see the wave of Twitter apps built specifically for Honeycomb and big screened tablets hit the market.  TweetCaster HD is the latest and within just a few minutes of time with it, we’re liking the approach.  I’ll probably always be a big fan of column-styled Twitter apps because I’m obsessive compulsive and need to see massive amounts of tweets all at once, but Tweetcaster HD seems to have found a nice balance between both a beautiful and user friendly UI that goes completely away from the rest of the pack.   I’m really enjoying the buttons that allow you to filter tweets with photos, videos or links out separately.  Seriously, great job by the folks at Handmark.
