ASUS has always been a manufacturer you can rely on for timely device updates. To keep that street cred up, ASUS announced through their official Facebook page that they will roll out an Android 4.2 “Jelly Bean” update to owners of the Transformer Infinity starting today. With Android 4.2 on your tablet, you can start taking advantage of the multiple user options, enhanced notifications and system toggles, plus a whole lot more.

If you are the owner of an Infinity tablet, I would start checking for that update right now and throughout the day.

Jelly Bean Update Rolling Out to Asus Transformer Infinity This Morning is a post from: Droid Life

Yesterday, we reported that ASUS would be rolling Jelly Bean out to Transformer Infinity tablets some time within the next 72 hours. Unfortunately, they will have to delay the update until next week. According to a post by Gary Key (an Asus representative) on XDA, there were some applications that required a keyboard firmware update before they can allow Jelly Bean to roll out.

Jelly Bean Update for ASUS Transformer Infinity Delayed Until Next Week is a post from: Droid Life

ASUS’ Gary Key took to XDA of all places to announce the plans to roll out Jelly Bean to Transformer Prime (TF201) and Transformer Infinity (TF700) tablets. According to Gary, the updates will be live for US and Canadian owners within the next 72 hours, so get your tablets charged up and ready.

It may not be Jelly Bean for the Infinity, but users can begin to download updates for both the Transformer Infinity (TF700) and Transformer Pad (TF300). For the TF700, it looks like ASUS is bumping up the firmware for the camera and have also simplified the boot animation. Once we get a full changelog, we can update the post. For the TF300, ASUS has already rolled out Jelly Bean so this is more of a maintenance update with some bug fixes and improved performance.

Well, guess I’ll throw this out there – where’s Jelly Bean for the Prime? I’m still waiting, ASUS.

Asus Pushing Out Updates to TF700 and TF300 Tablets, Bug Fixes and More is a post from: Droid Life

A report from Germany has an interesting bit of information regarding a new ASUS model for the Transformer lineup of tablets. The TF300 is said to be getting an LTE-equipped model that will launch sometime within August under the model number the TF300TL. The documents have the tablet priced starting at €529, which would equate to around $650 here in the States.

One interesting question we are left with is why not put this LTE radio in the TF700 Infinity series that ASUS has moved onto? The new Infinity tablet with the beautiful 1920×1200 display would be much more enticing with LTE than the TF300. The other question is whether or not we will ever see the LTE ASUS tablet Stateside? It would be merging one of the favorite tablet manufacturers and the speed of LTE.

How can you not love Asus? And when I say that, try to envision me staring directly at Verizon’s person in charge of network security.

If you weren’t aware, the Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700T) ships with a locked bootloader. However, if you want to unlock it, you can use the bootloader unlock tool that Asus released this week. Once unlocked, your device will not be covered by the original warranty and it cannot be re-locked. Most of you understand that and will probably do it anyway.

To grab the file, hit up the Asus link below and get to unlocking. After installing it on your tablet, simply run it.

Asus Releases Bootloader Unlock Tool for Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T is a post from: Droid Life

Asus dropped a note into the DL offices this morning to update us on the status of Jelly Bean for their Transformer line of tablets. According to this statement, the Transformer Pad, Transformer Prime, and Pad Infinity will all receive Android 4.1, however, the only time frame they would give us is “in the coming months.” Asus has typically been faster than any other OEM on the planet when it comes to updates, so don’t be surprised if it happens fairly quickly.

At ASUS, one of the key commitments we make to our customers is a relentless drive to deliver the best user experience. We constantly strive to achieve this goal through our ‘Design Thinking’ philosophy that includes regular software and firmware updates for our products.

We are pleased to announce that many of our tablet products are scheduled to receive an update to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months. We will provide further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release.

We are a little surprised to not see the original Transformer on the list. Asus has said that they are still “investigating” it.

Did I miss the press release on this one? Last we had heard, Asus was still targeting a July 16 or “later” launch for the Transformer Pad Infinity, but according to Office Depot’s site, you can buy it today for $499. It doesn’t even look like a pre-order. You can walk-through the entire checkout process and have your new Pad Infinity in 3 days thanks to free shipping.

We reviewed the Pad Infinity back in June, calling it a solid product with the best screen of any Android tablet to date. It’s tough to deny that a 1920×1200 display with 224ppi is anything short of beautiful. The Pad Infinity also sports a new Tegra 3 chip that is clocked higher than the T3 we have seen in any other device to date, making this one powerful gaming and media consumption device.

It’ll be interesting to see if this tablet stays available or if we have discovered another “Ooopsie!” moment.

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 Available at Office Depot? is a post from: Droid Life

Here is the first look at Asus’ newest member to the Transformer line of tablets – the Transformer Infinity. To many tablet enthusiasts, this will be the absolute peak of what an Android tablet can be at this time. With a Tegra 3 clocked at 1.6GHz (benchmarking at 1.9Ghz), a display that rivals the iPad at 1920×1200 resolution, and a superior build quality that resembles the Transformer Prime’s, Asus is looking to further themselves from all other competitors. 

What many will notice is that the Infinity incorporates a plastic-like top on the back of the slate, which will provide for better GPS functionality. Asus is not looking for a repeat of Dongle-gate. Whether you’re a tablet fan or not, there is no doubt that Asus has made a true super-slate here.
