To help promote the upcoming Oz movie, Disney released another themed Temple Run game, much like they did to help bring attention to Brave. Temple Run: Oz happens to look much better though, as you travel through environments that look very lively, as well as flying through the air in that famous hot air balloon. Other than the looks, it is your basic Temple Run title with swiping up/down and left/right action.

The game costs a dollar on Google Play, and for all you Temple Run fiends out there, that seems reasonable enough.

That’s right, a sequel to Temple Run is finished and should be released on Android next Thursday. Dubbed Temple Run 2 (so clever), the new game has been built from the ground up, contains the same simple controls that you enjoyed from the first, and will likely be just as addictive. The small 2-person Imangi Studios team has grown to five, to take the game to another level. Since they now serve 170 million players on the original TR, this new venture has a lot to live up to.

The run takes place in a temple this time around, with ropes, clouds, beautiful scenery, and mine cart rides. There are HD graphics, multi-tiered abilities for characters, special skills, and goals for each level, rather than the long list of achievements. All in all, it’s said to be mostly the same, just spiced up a lot.

It should be a blast, especially since it’ll be free again.

Sweet, another Temple Run game. Game publisher Imangi is partnering up with Disney’s Pixar Studios to bring us Temple Run: Brave to iOS and Android devices on June 14. What will make this game unique is not only the same run, slide, and jump features, but you will also be able to shoot arrows at targets which will give the game a nice breath of fresh air.

Brave hasn’t even hit theaters yet, so it’s hard to know if this is going to become a hit with kids or adults or even both. I’m hoping for some good humor out of this flick. Either way, I love me some Temple Run.

According to the Play Store page for Temple Run, the hit iOS game has already become a massive hit on Android as well, amassing 10 million downloads in just over 3 weeks. Through those first few weeks, we have seen a number of updates to address bug fixes, but today, we get new functionality. Twitter sharing of scores has been added, taking your runs public. Ready to challenge your friends?

For fun, why don’t we all toss out our top scores in the comments. Mine is a meager 1,254,633 at 7,142m and 3,256 coins.

We know that you are feverishly playing Temple Run today as it was released on Android only a few hours ago, but we also know that many of you are running into the same crashing issues that we are. If you time a jump wrong, forget to slide under a fire, or are eaten by a crocodile, your first reaction is probably to press the “Run Again” button. As one of our readers points out, pressing the “Back” button on your phone seems to be a much more stable option. It’s not flawless, but I was able to rattle off a dozen or so games without it crashing by using this little trick. And at least it’s something to tide us over while Imangi works out some of these initial launch bugs.

Cheers @NorCalDroid!

Temple Run was finally released on Android last night, but unfortunately, those with a RAZR or Bionic were left out of the fun. We reached out to Imangi Studios’ PR to see what the status was on bringing support to these phones and were told that they “hope to be available on those devices in the future.” They did not have a specific time frame to give us.

We are trying to figure out how the DROID 4 got the thumbs up though, when it runs essentially the same chipset as those two phones? Also, we see that the LG Spectrum, Galaxy SII, XOOM, and Tegra 3-powered Transformer Prime are all supported with their varying range of processors and screens. Someone fire up the “fragmentation!” engines…

Imangi Studios Brings Temple Run to the Android Marketplace March 27

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 6, 2012 – Imangi Studios today announced that Temple Run, the Top Grossing App and Top Free App in the App Store in January 2012, will be released for Android devices on March 27. Free to download, Temple Run challenges players to test their reflexes as they race down ancient temple walls and along sheer cliffs. With endless gameplay, players collect coins as they jump, slide and run to escape the evil monkeys guarding the temple while avoiding obstacles.

“We are excited to finally share the Android release date with our fans who have been so enthusiastic and supportive of Temple Run,” said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios. “By expanding to more mobile devices, we hope to provide the same addictive and fast-paced gameplay to an entirely new group of players.”

The iOS version of Temple Run for iPhone and iPad boasts over 40 million downloads in the App Store since its debut in August 2011.

About Imangi Studios
Imangi Studios was founded by husband and wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova in 2008. With the addition of artist Kiril Tchangov in 2009, the three-person studio has developed mega-hit Temple Run, which has been downloaded by 6% of the entire United States population since its release in August 2011. Based in Washington, D.C., the self-funded, fully independent studio previously developed Harbor Master, geoSpark, Hippo High Dive and Max Adventure for iOS.

Another update from the Temple Run team on Facebook has some people raging a bit more this Monday. Unfortunately, back in January, Temple Run was said to be ready for launch this month, but over the weekend, hopes have been crushed. The Temple Run team states that they want to make sure the experience users receive is flawless, so we can understand why they’re taking their time. According to their statement on Facebook, they are actually in beta testing right now, so we shouldn’t have too much longer to wait. In the mean time, prepare your torches and pitchforks until we have an official release date.
