Sprint Expands 4G LTE Network to 20 New Markets, Spark to 20 Cities

Sprint’s 4G LTE network keeps on growing. Today, the wireless carrier announced that it’s bringing LTE to 20 new markets. Also, Sprint said it plans to expand Spark and HD Voice to Provo, Utah, and Trenton, N.J., later this year.

The expansion should help Sprint reach its LTE coverage goal of 250 million people by mid-year, and the wider availability of Sprint Spark – 20 cities after today’s additions – will certainly make its revamped prepaid plans with Spark access more appealing. (more…)

Sprint Expands Spark and HD Voice to Salt Lake City and Jacksonville Customers

Sprint’s 4G LTE network may be notoriously slow, but the carrier is making inroads to improve the situation with its continued rollout of  Spark. Today, Sprint announced that Spark connectivity is now available in Salt Lake City and Jacksonville, Florida, and that HD Voice would accompany the deployment. The expansion broadens Sprint’s LTE reach to 382 markets, and is a sign the carrier is well on its way to achieving its coverage goal of 250 million people by mid-year.

Spark is a tri-band LTE solution that leverages several different wireless spectra to improve  speeds; Sprint says the technology can help capable devices reach a peak of 60Mbps. HD Voice is an unrelated but equally welcome improvement that enhances the quality of phone calls. (more…)

LG G2 Update on Sprint Activates Spark Connectivity, Fixes Hangouts Issue

A new update for the LG G2 on Sprint brings Spark connectivity, which should increase the speed of data that is being sent to and from the device. Software version ZVA also brings fixes for Google Hangout issues which pertain to voicemail and MMS messages, but that’s about it.

For Sprint users who live in a 4G LTE area that can connect to Spark, this should be great news.  (more…)
