According to the Wall Street Journal, who received information from three sources, Google is going to release the Nexus 6 this month. At least two of those sources confirmed that the device will be made by Motorola and sport a 5.9-inch display. They also mentioned the codename of “shamu,” which we have heard time and time again over the last couple of months. (more…)
A mystery Motorola device showed up at the FCC today (ID IHDT56PK2), a phone that is starring in a bunch of documents that we are still browsing through to hopefully find specifics on what it might be. Engadget seems to think that it is the Nexus 6, but we haven’t found anything yet that really leads us to believe that this is it. It could be – we aren’t saying that this isn’t it. Here is what we know so far. (We will be updating this post as we have more.) (more…)
Umm, I don’t know if it is. Either way, the phone pictured is a massive Moto X-looking phone next to the LG G3, which is already a massive phone, and absolutely stomping all over it.
According to the folks over at 9to5Google, they have information that confirms previous confirmations of previous confirmations that may or may not involve benchmarks on a potentially massive, whale-sized phone made by Motorola for Google that may or may not carry the Nexus brand. Follow that? Yeah, that’s what we are working with tonight. (more…)
An FCC filing for a device made by Motorola and with AT&T written all over it (in terms of connectivity) has arrived, a device that we can only assume is the next Moto X (or Moto X+1). The device falls under FCC ID IHDT56QA1 and is linked below in case you want to look through the documents yourself. (more…)
A Motorola device under the codename “shamu” is largely thought to be the next Nexus device from Google. With that bit of information made public through a couple of reports, tech enthusiasts are doing anything in their power to try and find mentions or appearances of the device, because well, Nexus remains a huge deal in the Android world. With that in mind, feel free to add a Motorola phone under the model number XT1112 to your list of possible “shamu” devices.
The model number appeared this week through Zauba, an import/export tracking system in India that has been both correct and wrong in the past at helping us track down future devices. In other words, add the number to the list, but don’t invest deeply in it. (more…)
According to two reports at the end of July, Motorola has been given approval to make the next Nexus phone, a 5.9-inch whale codenamed “Shamu.” Since the Android world has begged for years to have Motorola make a Nexus, you can imagine that the hypebeast engine has been kicked into overdrive. And when I say “overdrive,” I mean that any potential sighting of the device means people are going to get excited, freak out, and then want to share it with the world, even if it looks highly questionable. And that’s exactly what we have thanks to benchmarks spotted over the last couple of days that allegedly out the device’s specs. (more…)
Over the weekend, rumors of a Motorola Nexus surfaced suggesting that Google and the company it plans to sell to Lenovo had teamed up to produce an oversized phone-tablet hybrid under the codename “shamu.” The device is said to carry a 5.9-inch display, fingerprint scanner, and arrive some time around November. That rumor has now turned into a second report out of The Information who claim to have secured a confirmation through “three people with knowledge of the matter” that the device is coming and is a whale.
