I still can’t tell whether this game really excites me or puts a bad taste in my mouth. After viewing this newly released short from Rovio, I’m leaning towards the latter. Star Wars is one of my favorite movie series and coupling it with Angry Birds is something I’m still struggling with. Maybe by the time the game comes out I’ll have a more pleasant outlook towards it. After all, it is just a silly game, right?
The game arrives for Android on November 8.
Last week, Rovio teased an image that lead us to believe there would be some type of Star Wars and Angry Birds themed goodness. This morning, we now know it is a full game and there will be a host of other swag such as animations and toys for kids. Set for November 8, Angry Birds Star Wars could possibly let players choose between the Rebellion and the Empire. Naturally, everything has some sort of bird or pig reference tied in. (more…)
This morning, Rovio is has many folks excited with the above image they released to their Twitter feed. As you can see, that bird is carrying a light saber, the favored weapon of the Jedi whom exist in the world of Star Wars. In the tweet, Rovio links to their Tumblr, which gives instructions for people to meet at Toys R Us at Times Square in New York on October 8th.
So, could Rovio be just making a toy line? I wouldn’t see them stopping there, as it wouldn’t shock me to see an add-on to Angry Birds Space, or possibly a whole new game called Angry Birds Star Wars. That would sell. We’re just days away fom Oct. 8, so we’ll keep you posted.
Rovio’s Bad Piggies hit Google Play this morning. So far, it’s kind of fun. The objective is to reach the end of the levels by building contraptions with a set amount of supplies you are given such as boxes, wings, and other misc. tools. The game is more fun than I had anticipated, but the pig’s laughter is very nauseating. (more…)
It’s official. News of the century. This morning, Rovio has announced that the spin off of Angry Birds called, Bad Piggies, will launch on multiple platforms including Android on September 27. I have a good feeling about this game. I am hoping that instead of sending the pigs smashing through things, that we get to build structures that can withstand a bird barrage. That would be a nice change of pace.
So, it looks like Rovio is finally coming out with a Angry Birds spin-off. Took ‘em long enough. According to their Facebook and newest trailer, something pig is coming. The Facebook page is titled “Bad Piggies,” but who knows if that title will stick when the game is finally revealed. (more…)
NASA and Rovio have become best buddies with the launch of Angry Birds Space, and with the latest update, NASA is looking to the Birds to save the Mars Curiosity Rover from those pesky pigs. The update, now live in the Play Store, adds 20 levels of the Birds flying around the Red Planet looking to get the rover back from the evil pigs.
The game also adds volcanos and meteors as things to avoid on your way to smashing up pigs, adding to the already diverse maps in the game. There are even hidden rovers and landers for you to find on the red planet that unlock special levels and help to “discover more about the NASA missions.” If you are a die-hard Angry Birds fan, don’t miss this new region of space to play in.
If you have been waiting patiently for Rovio’s launch of Amazing Alex, then today is your day. Amazing Alex is a physics based game where you take supplied pieces of material and then build a contraption to ensure that a ball makes its way to the certain destination. So far, it’s been fun and we highly recommend. They have a free version, paid version for $0.99, and an HD version for a full $2.99. (more…)
