On July 11 (this Thursday), Rovio will release their newest Rovio Stars game called Tiny Thief. The preview for the new title shows a cartoonish medieval action adventure type game, that may have some physics-based puzzles along the way. You play as a tiny thief or mini-Friar Tuck, who completes tasks throughout levels while avoiding capture. There are robots (what?), candy stores, bears in cages, dragons breathing fire, pirates, knives, and more. It actually looks like it might be quite enjoyable.
We’ll be sure to remind you when it goes live. (more…)
When Rovio isn’t busy updating Angry Birds Star Wars with new bird characters or spending time making Bad Piggies fun to play, they are completely swept up in hypebeasting a new game. The newest of such is being labeled (by Rovio, mind you) “the evolution of Angry Birds.” It’s called Angry Birds Go! and from what little we have seen so far, we have our money on some type of Mario Kart-like racing game. This is something we have needed for a long time. Yesterday, Rovio announced Rovio Accounts, a cloud-based save system that allows players to save their game data to the cloud, then access it through any device. For example, if you are far in Angry Birds Star Wars, but then buy a new device, you won’t have to start all over. Genius. (more…)
For anyone who already plays Angry Birds Friends through their Facebook account, your day just got a whole lot sweeter. Now, Angry Birds Friends is available for your smartphone, allowing you to challenge your FB friends in the Pig Popper and Bird Flinging challenges wherever you are. (more…)
I have been thinking to myself recently how there just isn’t enough Angry Birds games for Android. Wouldn’t it be swell if Rovio kept them coming? Well, looks like they have read my mind and announced in Finland at a developers meetup that they are bringing their popular (60 million installs popular) Facebook game, Angry Birds Friends to Android and iOS. This morning, the great Angry Birds title of all time, Angry Birds Star Wars, was updated to feature the new Cloud City episode with twenty new levels. As a cherry on top, Rovio also included new Boba Fett missions which can be unlocked by finding hidden rocket pads or by purchasing them via in-app purchase. To see the full changelog, check below. Rovio teamed up with DreamWorks to create a game for the movie, The Croods, which is now live on Google Play. In the game, you play as the world’s first “modern” family, hunting and gathering to survive through different landscapes. As you rank up, you can customize your characters with “caveman accessories” and other little add-ons. (more…)
Here comes another game from Rovio. The development team partnered up with DreamWorks for a game based off of an upcoming movie title, centered around the world’s first family, The Croods. In the game, this family will go through collecting and gathering whatever it is they need to survive and evolve.
It is set to hit stores March 14, so we’ll make sure to throw out a reminder once it’s live.
