Verizon Extends Return Period for New Devices From Now Until January 15

If you are planning to pick up a new phone from Verizon between now and December 25, you’ll be pleased to learn that you have an extended window to return it should you decide it’s not the phone for you. Big Red, according to their updated return policy, is giving holiday purchases up until January 15 to return new devices. And actually, if you purchased a phone as far back as November 22, this covers you as well.

Here is the updated policy:

Purchases made between November 22 and December 25, 2012 may be returned or exchanged through January 15, 2013. All other provisions of Verizon Wireless’ Return & Exchange Policy continue to apply, including the restock fee.

Normally, Verizon only gives you 14 days to return a phone, but just like last year during the holidays, they are extending the trial period. The same restocking fees still apply.

AT&T Shortens Return Policy to 14 Days, Holds Hands With Verizon

by: | posted 10.08.12 | News

At the beginning of 2011, Verizon changed its return policy to a measly 14 days, meaning you had two weeks to decide if you liked a phone enough to keep it for 2 years. Almost two years later, and AT&T has joined the party, reducing their 30-day policy to 14 days as well. If you buy a phone from AT&T and return it within 2 weeks, you will pay only a restocking fee. If you try to return a phone after 14 days, you will be stuck with an early termination fee as well.

Verizon Extends Holiday Return Policy Even Further, Test Drive Your RAZR or Rezound Until January 15

by: | posted 11.23.11 | News

Last week, a handful of readers pointed out a significant change in Verizon’s return policy. Normally just 14 days long, Big Red had temporarily extended the amount of time you have to return a phone during the holidays to almost a month. If you purchase a phone between November 15 and Deecember 28, you initially had up until January 9 to test drive it. It looks now like that deadline has been extended as well. According to that same return policy, you now have until January 15.

Verizon Adjusts Return Policy For the Holidays, Will Give You Til January 9 to Return Phones Purchased on or After November 15

by: | posted 11.14.11 | News, Tips

Verizon has been operating on a 14-day return policy for most of the year. Since this went live, we have seen a variety of devices get spaced out by 14 days to help decrease the number of returned devices. With new top tier Android smartphones coming out almost weekly these days, this move – while unpopular for the most part – makes sense. We have some good news though thanks to some eagle-eyed readers who noticed that Verizon had made a slight tweak to this policy.

Starting tomorrow (November 15), you can purchase a smartphone and have until January 9, 2012 to return it for something else. With the RAZR, Rezound and Galaxy Nexus all becoming available over the next few weeks, this is incredible news. If you are dying to have a new smartphone, but can’t wait for the G-Nex to finally arrive, then you may want to check out a RAZR or Rezound knowing now that you have until the first week of January to swap it out if you decide stock Android is indeed your cup of tea. You will have to pay a $35 restocking fee if you do bring your phone back. I guess that’s the price you pay to test drive.
