Download: Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1 for the DROID RAZR M

by: | posted 10.13.12 | News

The first Jelly Bean build for Motorola’s new lineup of RAZRs has leaked this weekend, and the DROD RAZR M is the beneficiary (Blur version 98.11.35). As you can probably guess, this is a first build and probably not the OTA update that this device will eventually see, so if you would like to flash it, just understand that there is a chance that you will be stuck on this build. At this time, there are not fastboot files available for the RAZR M, so again, if you jump to this, be prepared to be there for a while.

With that said, you do not need to be rooted to do this. You can flash this update right over top of your current 77.111.10 Android 4.0.4 build, hence the name of the file.

Motorola RAZR M Receives a Tear Down, Moto Has Made it Easy

by: | posted 09.24.12 | News

It’s customary to see tear down videos of new devices hit the web shortly after their release. The new DROID RAZR M from Motorola is no different. In this video from DirectFix, owners are shown how to fix their own LCD displays instead of sending it in for a replacement. Independence? Yeah, that’s what America is all about.

Motorola and Intel Announce the RAZR i, Powered by a 2.0GHz Atom Processor

by: | posted 09.18.12 | News

Motorola and Intel announced the first phone of their partnership this morning in London, dubbed the RAZR i. The RAZR i looks almost identical to the RAZR M that was announced a couple of weeks ago, but the insides are quite a bit different. This is the first mainstream device to run one of Intel’s Atom processors, which has been clocked at 2.0GHz. While it’s only single-core, it should be incredibly efficient and powerful enough to get any task done without hesitation. Battery life is also said to be “40% more powerful than the competition,” whatever that means.

Download: RAZR M Exclusive Wallpaper Not Found on the Device

by: | posted 09.13.12 | Downloads, News

If you head into a Verizon store today and buy a DROID RAZR M, part of the package will include a special paper from Motorola with an NFC chip inside. If you touch your NFC-equipped RAZR M to that paper, you are redirected to a website that features an “exclusive” wallpaper that you won’t find on the device itself. Since we are kind souls, we have the wallpaper for you above. Not bad, right?

Should you run into issues grabbing it from the embed above, you can also snag it here. The rest of the RAZR M wallpapers can be found here.

DROID RAZR M Available Today From Verizon for $99

by: | posted 09.13.12 | News

Today is the day! The Motorola DROID RAZR M is available for $99 on new 2-year contract. I know I seem to be far too excited over a $99 mid-range smartphone, but this is easily Moto’s best work in years. It’s a small package with a big vibrant display, excellent performance, and stellar battery life. While I’m not necessarily a fan of the kevlar back or the below-average camera, everything else about this phone is top notch. The size, though small compared to the Galaxy S3, is a welcomed change since Motorola managed to keep the display at 4.3″, which they are claiming to be “edge-to-edge.”

If you missed my DROID RAZR M review that went live earlier this week, be sure to check it out. I can’t say enough good things about this phone. Full specs here.

Buy.

Motorola DROID RAZR M Review

by: | posted 09.11.12 | News, Phones, Reviews

The DROID RAZR M by Motorola was introduced last week as a mid-range device with, for the most part, top tier specs on Verizon. It sports an “edge-to-edge” display, dual-core processor, and Ice Cream Sandwich in one of the smaller packages we have seen in some time. Motorola was trying to give this phone something new by keeping the display itself big, but shrinking down the phone to make it much more manageable in one hand. They succeeded and then some. I may as well admit it now, that I’m a big fan of this phone even if the display is only qHD. Let’s talk about it.

Motorola and Intel Post Teaser for September 18 Event in London, All About “Edge-to-Edge”

YouTube Preview Image

On September 17 in London, Motorola and Intel are going to unveil the first Android smartphone that they built together. We don’t have confirmation of this (well, one news outlet did), but we are fully expecting it to be the RAZR M with an Intel Medfield chip instead of the Snapdragon S4 that we are getting here in the States. The “edge-to-edge” display was the major selling point for the device here, so to see them throw those terms out again for this London event only makes sense. This teaser says nothing but “edge-to-edge” every few seconds.

The device could potentially look like this, with a grey exterior instead of the black and white color schemes we were introduced to last week.
