LG Announces Puppy Pop Game for G3 QuickCircle Case Users

I’ve never understood so-called glance-able smartphone cases. HTC’s Dot View and Samsung’s S-View cover seem like transient novelties to me, forms in search of function. How much time do they really save you, anyway, when you are still required to fish out your device from your pocket?

My biases aside, I think most will agree that LG’s announcement of a game designed for its QuickCircle case is a little ridiculous. Puppy Pop is a time-based match-three game, won by drawing lines through identical puppies. Scores can be shared on social networks. (more…)

LG Highlights G3 Features in Series of Videos: Smart Keyboard, Dual Window, and More

Our full-time LG G3 coverage is only beginning, but as you wait patiently for a couple of reports from Tim after a full weekend with the device, we thought we would share a handful of tip videos that LG posted this morning.

In the videos below, you will get tutorials on how to use features like the new Smart Keyboard on the G3. From resizing the keyboard on the fly to swiping to quickly delete words, LG is really bragging about its improved keyboard design. But the videos also talk about using the QuickCircle case, setting up a Guest Mode, and customizing your unlock pattern with Knock Code. LG even talks about using Dual Window, which is very similar to Samsung’s Multi Window feature.

LG Shows Off G3 QuickCircle Cover With Support for Wireless Charging

This evening, LG announced the first official accessory for their next flagship, G3, which will be announced next Tuesday. The accessory is called the QuickCircle Case, and is a form of protection that “does more than just protect,” it makes the G3 “infinitely more useful.” As LG mentioned in their brief press release for the product, this isn’t just a typical folder-style case.

With its massive circular window, owners of the G3 will be able to use their phone without ever having to open the cover. The window allows you to do things like check the time, place calls, send text messages, take photos, listen to music, or get an update on health activity.  (more…)
