Good news for Google Play Music users today, as the company has doubled your music library capacity from 25,000 songs to 50,000. Boom. And better yet, it is all free. Google is bringing more value to the service, which now trumps offers from other competitors like Spotify and Apple. (more…)
A gang of updates are hitting Google Play this morning, covering a large part of Google’s entire suite of apps. Included are updates for Maps, Google+, Play Music, Search, Gmail, and more.
While the updates are hitting devices, there is still little detail as to what is inside, but since all of these apps have received Material Design makeovers, you should not expect anything too fancy. If anything, it is minor bug fixing and tweaks. If you spot something serious, let us know below. (more…)
What we expected in “weeks” was announced early this afternoon. Google took the wraps off YouTube Music Key, a paid streaming service which includes unlimited, ad-free access to music videos. If that is not enough, the search giant also unveiled a new dedicated tab for tunes on YouTube.com and the YouTube app. (more…)
Since the beginning of the service, users who wished to subscribe to magazine feeds, TV shows, or have access to Play Music All Access, needed a credit card on file to be charged when it came time to pay Google.
Starting recently, it appears Google has made it possible to use your Google Play balance to pay for subscriptions, such as your Google Wallet balance or Google Play balance (gift cards, survey rewards, etc.). After purchasing Songza earlier this year, a company which created “contextual expert-curated playlists to give you the right music at the right time,” it appears that Google is ready to unveil the work it has done to integrate the service into their own music platform, Google Play Music.
From what has been announced, the integration is somewhat minimal, but users will see a big difference in the Listen Now section of the application. Once the application is updated on your device, you will see many more “expertly curated” playlists that are suited to time of day, weather, activities, and the date. (more…)
An update is rolling out to Google Play Music this afternoon, one which brings back a feature that was once available, then removed. The feature is public playlists through All Access, which was made available for a very limited time back in August. Now, the feature is back, and hopefully it is here to stay. (more…)
The country that introduced the world to the first walkie talkies, pagers, and butter tarts can now access Google’s All Access through Play Music. Starting today, Canada has the ability to stream a library of 20 million songs with no ads right to their Android devices, all for the low monthly cost of just $9.99. (more…)
Earlier this week, Google added the ability to open your phone’s Camera with a simple “take a picture” or “record a video” voice command in the Google Search app. Now, functionality has been added allowing users to instantly start Google Play Music‘s “I’m Feeling Lucky” radio station feature with a simple voiced request. The radio station will take into account what you’ve been listening to recently to tailor music in your library (or for All Access users, a lot more) for your ears’ pleasure. (more…)
