We thought that OnePlus had started the rollout of Android Nougat to the OnePlus 3T at the beginning of the month, but there may have been some critical bugs that needed fixing, as the update is restarting today as a newer build. According to OnePlus, the OxygenOS 4.0.2 update will begin rolling out shortly to the 3T. Previously, OxygenOS 4.0 was expected. (more…)
On New Year’s Eve, OnePlus squeezed in a couple of announcement posts to share to the world that Android Nougat is here for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Well, sort of. They announced that they were starting the incremental rollout of each update, so you may not have seen it yet, as they do so slowly to hopefully not send out an update that could cause problems for everyone. Related, though, they also released a beta of Nougat for the OnePlus 3T, for those who don’t want to wait for the stable build. (more…)
While we are still bringing in votes for the DL Reader’s Choice for Phone of the Year (POTY), we are ready to present you with our choice(s). In 2016, we saw a plethora of great smartphones from a number of makers, which made for a very exciting and busy year.
Because there was such a high number of fantastic phones, it was actually quite the struggle to choose a single one as our favorite. As you will see, we have a couple runner ups this year, only because we didn’t want to have a three-way tie for favorite. (more…)
Before we tell you what our pick for Android phone of the year (POTY) is, we want to hear from you first.
In 2016, we saw a ton of great devices released from a large assortment of makers, making this quite a unique list. To give you an example of that, the ZTE-made Axon 7 will be found, the first time a ZTE phone has even be a contender in the POTY category.
Naturally, all the big names are here, too, including the latest from Moto, Samsung, HTC, and LG. However, you will see that the Galaxy Note 7 is not listed, you know, because of the recall. And if you think we totally botched this and are missing the best option, feel free to vote “Other” and let us know int he comments.

Those are good vibes, by the way, as the original OnePlus 3 was already one of our favorite phones of the year. So what’s with the OnePlus 3T? Should you be mad about it’s existence so soon or excited that a company was able to improve a phone this quickly? Maybe a bit of both, but I’d lean towards the latter. Let’s talk about those ideas in this OnePlus 3T review. (more…)
We all know that the OnePlus 3T is really just a slightly upgraded version of the OnePlus 3. That’s not taking anything away from the quality or value of either phone, but when it comes to software updates, one has to wonder how that process will work going forward, right? According to OnePlus, they should start to see updates on the exact same schedule here before long. In fact, once they each receive the update to Android Nougat, they will be on the same schedule going forward. (more…)
