Over in Thailand, ASUS made the MeMo Pad 10 official at a mobile expo. The device, which we have seen and wrote about a couple of times, comes with a 10″ WXGA display, a Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and slot for a microSD which allows for additional storage on top of all already present 16GB. 

The tablet will be available in a variety of colors, something I wish more OEM’s did, but we still don’t know when we can expect a launch here in the States. It is more than likely going to be priced at a very reasonable point, but at this rate, this tablet should have been out last year when these specs were somewhat relevant. No, the Tegra 4 is still currently unavailable, but there is already an over saturation of cheap Android tablets.

We scarcely speak of ASUS’s budget-friendly MeMo Pad lineup because frankly, we simply read our comments section. No one seems all that interested. But with these new press renders of the MeMo Pad 10 hitting the web, it sort of has us second guessing our own initial reactions to the lineup. I mean come on, look at that smooth backside. 

On top of the overall elegant look the MeMo Pad 10 gives off in these images, the device looks extremely thin in comparison to last year’s Transformer models. We previously posted up an unboxing of the device, but since posting, the video has gone private. Figures. We have little to go off of in terms of specs, but we do know it features a 10.1 IPS display at a resolution of 1280 x 800, is powered by a Tegra 3 chip, sports two cameras, and runs Android 4.1 out of the box.

ASUS is apparently ready to unveil both the MeMo Pad 7 and MeMo Pad 10 at MWC this year. That should be exciting for some.

What would this slate need to be priced at for you to be interested? $250? Lower?

ASUS MeMo Pad 10 Press Images Spotted, Still Looks Pretty Sleek is a post from: Droid Life

It was the original ASUS MeMo 7 that ended up becoming Google’s best selling Android tablet to-date, the Nexus 7. After that disappeared we weren’t sure that we would see another tablet from the MeMo line until recently when the 7″ low-end tablet was re-announced. If you were looking to be blown away by specs though, that tablet was not for you. However, a new 10″ MeMo Pad has surfaced and is looking to be better equipped. 

The video doesn’t show much save for ASUS‘ light skin on top of an unspecified version of Jelly Bean, but everything done on the tablet looks snappy and silky smooth. No specs are mentioned anywhere about processor, screen or memory that is packed inside, but it’s looking highly likely that this device will be officially announced at Mobile World Congress coming up in a few weeks. Then we should have all the information we need on this MeMo Pad 10 to see if it’s actually worth buying.
