Back in February, specs leaked for a device code named the M4, referred to as the HTC One’s (M7) little brother. The specs included a 4.3″ 720p display, 2GB of RAM, a dual-core Snapdragon processor, and it ran the latest version of Android, 4.2. Today, a render has leaked for this device and it is dubbed, the HTC One Mini.

For anyone that might be interested in the design of the One, but desires a smaller display, this is your phone. According to the leak, the phone features just about the same specs that were leaked a couple of months ago, except now it states this device has an Ultrapixel camera and 4G LTE connectivity.

Launch is said to be penciled in for the end of Q2, but there is no word on price.

Interested in the One Mini?

We’re live at HTC’s big event in NYC where the world is expecting them to announce their new flagship smartphone, the One. Nothing is official at this time, but the device has appeared in a variety of press renders and early pictures leading up to this moment, so we at least sort of know what to expect in terms of looks. When it comes to the technology used inside to make this phone standout, we are still pretty clueless, and that’s exciting.

Stick with us as we report live from the event. Afterwards, we will likely have a chance to get our hands all over the device, so you may as well hang out all day.

Late last night, the HTC One appeared in a 5-minute long video on YouTube, but was quickly pulled before most of the world was able to see it. Thankfully, a couple of forums were able to grab screenshots from it, so that we could see what HTC will unveil today in New York City and London.

The device from the front, looks identical to what we have seen in a number of leaked press shots. The back, is showing itself for the first time with an all silver coating, white line accents, a centered camera, and HTC and Beats logos. We can also see a lock switch up top next to a 3.5mm headphone jack. The microUSB charging port appears to be off-centered on the bottom of the device. Up the sides, we have a mix of white and silver accents.

We also got another press render which shows the backside of the black version of the phone. It looks identical to the white/silver, but is black.

Update 4: The videos all look to be gone now.

Update 3: And the full video embedded below. To see the new Sense 5.0 in action, jump to the 2:30 mark. It’s interesting…to say the least.

Update: The guys at Phandroid just posted up this quick video, which looks like it may be from the pulled YouTube video in the screenshot up top:

It’s no secret that HTC is having an event tomorrow to announce what we are pretty sure will be the HTC One. They haven’t been short on teasing their new device, whatever it is, and today on the eve of the event, HTC posted this picture to their Instagram account. Whatever could it be?

Upon examining the photo closer than it probably should be, one of those cloths seems to be covering up something larger than the other ones. While it’s most likely two phones under one cloth, could HTC pull a fast one and announce a tablet or something crazy tomorrow? More than likely that isn’t the case, given HTC’s recent stance on Android tablets.

Update: Well, this is scary. Ubuntu now has a countdown on their site that is tick tocking right up to HTC’s press event. Not only is it a countdown, but they say that it’s, “tablet time.” Could that be a freakin’ HTC Ubuntu tablet under that cloth? Lord help us.

We’ll be at the event tomorrow giving you updates as they happen.

The day is almost upon us – HTC will unveil their next flagship smartphone, tomorrow, February 19 at a press event in New York City. We’ll be there, with a live blog for you to follow along, of course. Unless something wild goes down, we are expecting to see the HTC One (formerly M7), a device with a 4.7″ FHD display, 2GB RAM, 13MP (or Ultrapixel) rear camera, new version of HTC Sense, Jelly Bean, and a dual-speaker front piece to offer a unique sound experience. Like last year’s One X and One S event, this is going to be big.

Before we get to tomorrow morning, though, we’d love to hear predictions or final thoughts on HTC’s next big thing. Will it go to all four major carriers or will Verizon say “no” again? Will the Ultrapixel camera tech that has been rumored, end up impressing us all? How will this front speaker setup benefit anyone?

Let us know in the comments! Then join us back here at 10:00AM Eastern for the live blog.

Through their social media accounts, HTC has been posting up videos and pictures everyday of their upcoming HTC ONE device, previously known as the M7. For me, I enjoy these games that they play as it’s just a way to look deeper into images and see if we can take anything from them. The one they just posted on their official Twitter account, pretty much confirms the design that we will see on February 19, at least in my opinion.

In the eye, we see the date 2/19/13, but it’s the bright spot in the middle and the white blur in the bottom right of that which I am concerned with. To me, the white blur sure does resemble the same design we have been looking at for the past week or so.

As for the bright part, Kellex said it looks like a circuit board or some type of processor part, but as for me, I’m always down to get a little wild. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw those colors was something you would see if you took a closeup of a butterfly’s wing. HTC did have a device called the J Butterfly, but of course, this is me having fun. What the J Butterfly would have to do with this device, I have no idea.

Luckily, we will finally know what we are getting next week. I know some people’s interest has dropped on this phone, but I’m still excited. Never dismiss a company’s next flagship.

Think you spot anything I missed?

According to sources who spoke with HTC Source, the HTC One (formerly the M7) will launch in the U.S. on March 22 through AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. The device will come in both 32GB and 64GB variants at $199 and $299 on-contract, respectively. It will feature a metal casing and front-facing stereo speakers, much like the design renders we have seen leaked over the past couple of weeks. We should also see two models, a black and then a silver/white.

The previous leaks that appeared to be actual photos of the HTC One are said to have been early pre-production units that were used during testing. That phone you saw is not the final design.

As you probably noticed, Verizon is not mentioned anywhere in that list of carriers. We are starting to hear on a regular basis that Big Red may have passed on this device completely. That’s disappointing if true. What we’re wondering now, which we talked about last night on the DL Show, is what Verizon plans to introduce during this quarter. So far, we haven’t seen a thing.

The front page of HTC’s website has been updated with a countdown clock that points to their event next week, but also hints towards their new device being named the HTC One.

Each time the timer gets to a :01 interval on the countdown the screen flashes and you catch a glimpse of the unannounced device in the background in a short clip. Hints of the phone’s backside, side-profile and camera can all be seen if you watch it long enough. It isn’t much, but HTC seems to be hypebeasting their upcoming flagship pretty well.

The man behind the @evleaks Twitter account has made a name for finding good information and leaks before they become official. After last week’s information that the HTC M7 would come to market simply named the HTC One, he follows up today with a purported press render of the device, which looks similar to a render we have seen before.

The two renders look almost identical, but when we first saw the previous image it didn’t look like something that HTC would have up their sleeve. This latest mockup features HTC’s Sense included and comes somewhat closer to what HTC would have it end up looking like. Many readers were unimpressed with the design, saying it looked a lot like the iPhone 5, but now we see this same design popping up again. Could this be what the HTC One will actually look like?

A couple of things have us slightly worried. First, we called the previous render the “iPhone 5″ because of its top and bottom panels. Yes, the new render above still looks exactly like the backside of an iPhone 5, only with a display along for the ride. Second, what’s with the button arrangements? There is a back, home (on the far right, which is odd) and random “HTC” button in the middle? Is that a new multi-tasking button? And did HTC really have to put February 19 in the date of the clock, just because that’s the date we expect to see this phone unveiled?

Also, this looks nothing like the actual hardware of a device said to be the M7 (HTC One) that was pictured a few weeks back.

We only have to wait another week until we expect HTC will formally announce this device, is anyone interested in this design if we see it on Verizon? Are you as confused as we are?

We expect the official unveiling of HTC’s M7 device at a press conference scheduled for February 19, but if any more information leaks, there won’t be anything left. The latest details we have come from the fairly reliable evleaks twitter account. Posted this morning, he believes that the M7 will come to market under the name “HTC One.”

This is a bit interesting since HTC’s last big hit was the One X and making this just the One might cause a bit of confusion in the market. HTC most likely has some marketing reason behind the name, but it’s not quite clear yet. Hopefully they’ll explain a few things at their upcoming event.

Think this a wise move on HTC’s part?

The folks over at French Android site FrAndroid, received the screenshot you are seeing above which depicts a launch scenario for HTC’s soon-to-be-announced M7 handset. If real, Phone House, a big electronics retailer in Europe, is expecting to have the device available for sale on March 8 at a price of 649 euros. This date matches up to a previous rumor we saw a few weeks back.

We’re also seeing what could be an official spec list, which shows the device having a 4.7″ FHD display, Sense 5.0, 13MP camera, 32GB internal storage, 4G LTE, NFC, and dual Beats Audio speakers. That alls sounds about right or is at least comparable to what we have heard numerous times over the last couple of months. But is it legit?

Take a look at the photo of the device. See that dotted ring in the middle? That’s the watermark that Unwired View uses whenever it publishes an exclusive image or render. In fact, here is the original render:

Why would Phone House use a render from a tech site in its launch documentation for employees? Tough to tell. What we do know is that retailers screw up all of the time and have been found to have used random images from the web in plenty of internal materials. For example, go to Verizon’s Trade-in program page and plug-in the HTC Thunderbolt.

So we don’t know if it’s 100% real or not. What’s interesting, is that the spec list mentions dual Beats Audio speakers, something this render clearly shows it having. But do any of the other M7 leaks show dual-speakers? Not necessarily. Then again, HTC did hint at a new sound experience coming to their phones in 2013 – are front speakers what they are referring to? Clearly, we still have some questions as we get closer to the M7′s official unveiling on February 19.

Developer and HTC insider @LlabTooFeR appears to have leaked the specs to a new version of HTC’s DROID DNA on Verizon. Remember the codename of “dlx” that clung to that phone as it approached launch? That same codename has appeared in a new device but with an addition, making it the “DLXPLUS.” Are we going to see a revamped DNA already or is this Verizon’s version of the HTC M7?

The last rumor we saw for the M7 pegged it for release on every major U.S. carrier in March with a delay at Verizon, leaving many of you disappointed. If we look at this set of specs, though, it sounds identical to the M7, only with Verizon bands. If this list is correct, we have the same quad-core Snapdragon S4 AQQ8064 processor clocked at 1.7Ghz, a 4.7″ 1080p display, 13MP rear camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, Sense 5.0, and Jelly Bean. There is even a mention of an SD card slot for expandable storage.

According to @LlabTooFeR this will support all of the same networks that the current DLX supports, which means Verizon’s LTE.

We saw HTC do something similar with the One X, last year, going with a plus version after the device had been out for a while to help give it new life. The odd thing here, is that the DNA has only been out for three or four months, so it seems early for a re-release. But hey, we won’t complain. Verizon needs to release something or it’s going to be a slow Q1.

As we inch closer to the unveiling of the HTC M7 on February 19 in NYC, it makes sense that leaks would continue to pour in. Three new reports from this morning are helping to paint the picture of a device that is becoming less and less a mystery by the minute.

First, both Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone (Germany) are showing the device in inventory systems as, the “HTC M7.” We still aren’t sure if this is the official name or not, but it’s certainly starting to look like it might be. If not, we fully understand that these systems can probably be updated closer to launch if need be. Both inventory screens also confirm that the device will come in both black and silver, a report that first surfaced last week.

The last juicy rumor to come out this morning suggests that HTC will utilize “Ultrapixel” technology in the M7, a camera made up of three separate 4.3MP cameras. While you can add those up to reach 13MP, a number that has been rumored, sources are telling Pocket-Lint that the camera won’t actually output at that size.

From what we can tell, this “Ultrapixel” tech will help to generate crisper, cleaner images with better color accuracy. This will be one of the major selling points for the M7.

So the scene now looks something like this – it’s called the HTC M7, comes in both black and silver, and will sport new camera tech called Ultrapixel.

Neat?

Talk about HTC releasing a phone under the codename M7 has been growing by the day around these parts, so it seems like a release is imminent. Peter Chou, the CEO for HTC, was in attendance at an end-of-the-year event for HTC and it ended up being televised by many stations. At one point, Chou pulled out a device and proceeded to take a few pictures of the crowd. Could this be the M7?

This is far from conclusive evidence, but the device in Chou’s hands doesn’t look exactly like your standard One X. In a recent rumor, we got the information that there would be two colors of M7 on launch, white and black. Obviously Chou is sporting the white option and unfortunately didn’t let the cameras get a close up on what he was actually using.

Is the M7 appealing to you right now? Or do you think there are better options coming down the road worthy of your upgrade?

Their source was not able to elaborate on why, but one would assume it has to do with the DROID DNA still being somewhat fresh. No better way to kill one smartphone than by launching a similar device 4 months later, right?

Other rumors peg the HTC M7 for a March 8 release overseas. We’ll hopefully know on the 19th of next month when it’ll find its way to the States.

Disappointed by this news? Care one way or the other?
