Back in February, specs leaked for a device code named the M4, referred to as the HTC One’s (M7) little brother. The specs included a 4.3″ 720p display, 2GB of RAM, a dual-core Snapdragon processor, and it ran the latest version of Android, 4.2. Today, a render has leaked for this device and it is dubbed, the HTC One Mini.

For anyone that might be interested in the design of the One, but desires a smaller display, this is your phone. According to the leak, the phone features just about the same specs that were leaked a couple of months ago, except now it states this device has an Ultrapixel camera and 4G LTE connectivity.

Launch is said to be penciled in for the end of Q2, but there is no word on price.

Interested in the One Mini?

Back in early February, specs were leaked for an HTC device codenamed the M4. The M4 didn’t have any specs that jumped off the page, but now there is an apparent image floating around the web for the upcoming device. And what excellent timing and coincidence that the HTC First was debuted yesterday, with almost matching specs. A 4.3″ 720p display, Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, and not much else going on.

Basically, think of the M4 as HTC’s 2013 mid-range device without Facebook’s Home launcher baked in. What you are left with is an affordable, entry-level device that anyone could get their hands on. If you are looking for a main selling point, it is rumored to come equipped with an ultrapixel camera along its backside.

While HTC has yet to make any of this official, this is something we can possibly have to look forward to as the year presses on.

Thoughts?

This morning, new information is coming to light on devices from HTC that isn’t associated with the M7. I know, it’s hard to believe. With the eve of announcement upon us, it’s hard not to focus on their next flagship device. To fill out the rest of the Q1-Q2 2013 lineup, specs for two rumored devices, codenamed the M4 and G2 (not the same HTC G2 that was released to T-Mo), have hit the web.

Out of the two, we can expect the M4 to be the One S to the M7′s One X of last year. Slightly lower specs, but still a pretty impressive sounding device. The M4 is to apparently feature a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4.3″ 720p display, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP back-facing camera, come running Android 4.2+ out of the box, and feature a 1,700mAh battery. While all of that sounds nice, the 1,700mAh is really throwing us off. How they intend on keeping the device alive for more than 4 hours will be nothing short of a technological miracle in our book.

As for the G2, it is said to run a 1GHz processor, boast a 3.5″ HVGA display, rock 512MB of RAM, and grace a 1,400mAh battery. Not much to say here except that this phone will be their neglected stepchild. Below we have the specs listed out.

M4 Specs:

1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon

4.3″ 720p display

2GB of RAM

16GB of storage

13MP camera f2.0

1.6MP front camera

1700mAh battery

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

G2 Specs:

1.0GHz ARM Cortex

3.5″ HVGA display

512MB RAM

4GB of storage + microSD

5MP camera

1400mAh battery

Android 4.0+ Ice Cream Sandwich

By looking at these specs, you can expect us to probably never bring up the “G2″ ever again. It’s 2013, and HTC thinks 512MB of RAM is suitable for even their low end phones still? Not in our book.

According to Unwired View, it doesn’t seem that HTC will be announcing these devices alongside the M7 in a couple weeks at their events or even showing them off at MWC in Barcelona. Instead, they will be ready for launch “sometime in the Spring” and that’s all we know. Interesting move by HTC if that turns out true.

Thoughts on the M4?
