Custom ROM Roundup for Galaxy Nexus – AOKP Build 4, XenonHD, and LiquidSmooth

Instead of continuing our coverage of just CyanogenMod or AOKP, we thought it would be nice for some of you to broaden your custom ROM horizons. If you have never tried or heard of XenonHD and LiquidSmooth, try them out. For starters, XenonHD is based on Jelly Bean 4.1.1 JRO03R and comes with plenty of fantastic tweaks and mods that will impressive any avid flasher. Custom ROM Friday: Liquid Smooth Alpha 6 for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus

Yea, we know – it’s been too long. For today’s custom ROM, we have Team Liquid’s Jelly Bean Liquid Smooth Alpha 6 for the Galaxy Nexus. Liquid’s goal is to create the smoothest and fastest ROM’s out there, while also being able to deliver plenty of visual customization options. Some of the custom features include 5 lockscreen targets, a custom kernel for overclocking, and notification bar toggles for those who need instant access to system settings.  (more…)

Custom ROM Friday: LiquidSmooth Beta 3 For Galaxy Nexus

The Liquid series of ROMs are available for a wide assortment of devices. Thanks to a hardworking developer by the name of Liquid0624, many folks have been enjoying them for quite some time and there doesn’t seem to be any slowing down in development. The newest release in the the saga of Liquid is the LiquidSmooth ROM for the Galaxy Nexus.

This ROM stands out for a few reasons: it’s being hyped as one of the fastest ROMs available, is extremely light, super snappy and runs LeanKernel. The zip itself is just 92MB, which is tiny compared to some other ROMs. Google Apps are already baked right into the ROM, so that makes installation a breeze. Liquid Gingerbread 1.0 Released for Original DROID

If you are still rocking that OG DROID and want to get as close to Gingerbread as you possibly can, then I suggest you check out Liquid’s new Gingerbread 1.0 release.  Built  from CM and Google source, this has all of the goodies to make your phone actually feel like it’s running an official Android 2.3 build.  It comes with a stock kernel that can be clocked up to 1.0GHz, but don’t worry, there are plenty of others out there if you really need to go higher.  Liquid ROMs have been some of the best for the DROID since the beginning and it doesn’t appear as if their team is slowing down any time soon.  Definitely give this one a shot.     (more…)
