Verizon Announces Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, Calls it The “Family Tablet”

Verizon made the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 for its 4G LTE network official this afternoon, announcing that the Samsung-made tablet would be available online and in stores starting June 26 for $379.99. For a limited time, the tablet will be available for $279.99 with a new two-year activation, for those of you who need constant LTE connectivity on your tablet devices.

The tablet’s ability to allow for multiple profiles on the one device is Verizon’s main sell, a feature that has been available for Android devices for quite a while. With multiuser capability, Verizon touts the Galaxy Tab 4 as the perfect family tablet. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and 10.1 Renders Leaked En Route to Verizon

Renders for two models of the Galaxy Tab 4, the 8.0 and the 10.1, both headed for Verizon’s network have been leaked by @evleaks this morning. The Samsung tablets were announced by the manufacturer on April 1, with global pre-orders beginning April 24, but at the time, no clues were dropped as to which exact US carriers they would be seen on.

Now that time has passed, it appears both tablets will come packed with 4G LTE radios on Big Red, likely with the ability to take advantage of the network’s new XLTE bandwidth.  (more…)

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, 8.0, and 10.1 Tablets Launch May 1 in the US, Pre-Sale Begins Tomorrow

The US launch of Samsung’s 4th generation Galaxy tablets is nigh upon us. Beginning May 1, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, 8.0, and 10.1 will be made available for purchase stateside from online retailers and brick-and-mortar electronic stores.

Galaxy Tab devices have historically been the low-cost complement to Samsung’s Note line of tablets, and Series 4 is no exception. The most powerful option in the new lineup, the Tab 10.1, sports a measly 1280×800 resolution display. It’s concededly competitive at the $349.99 price point, but spec enthusiasts need not apply.
