The market for Android tablets is constantly changing and it is constantly leaving older tablets in the dust. Today Woot! has Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 as their sale of the day for only $249.99. This is the 16GB version of the device with a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz and Android 4.0.
The tablet comes refurbished, but as a buyer from Woot! before I can speak for a good product. If you’re looking for a fairly decent Android tablet for cheap, hit the link below.
This morning, Verizon and Samsung announced that the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) with 4G LTE was available starting today for $499. The device packs a 1.0GHz dual-core processor, 10.1″ HD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 7000mAh battery, dual cameras, and 4G LTE. It’s mid-range, if there is such a thing in the tablet world.
If you are interested in picking one up, understand that $499 is the full retail price, meaning you don’t have to sign a contract to buy one. Verizon eliminated tablet contracts when Share Everything plans went live. Now, you buy a tablet that has 4G LTE capabilities and simply attach it to your shared data plan for $10 per month.
Update: Sorry about the confusion over the deal guys, seems the deal sold out between the time it was tipped and when we posted it!
Everyone loves a good Android tablet sale and Daily Steals is the website that has got your back today. While it may be aging, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was once the cream of the crop when it came to Android tablets and is still respectable as far as specs go today.
For only $179.99 you can’t really argue with getting a 10.1″ tablet that is packing 16GB of memory internally, 1GB of RAM, and a 1GHz dual-core processor powering it all. If you are looking to get your first Android tablet or maybe for someone else in the family, this deal is definitely worth checking out.
Cheers Matt, Brandon, and Adam!
Samsung is still fighting to lift the sales ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and today, the Appeals Court of the Federal Circuit has placed the official decision in the hands of Judge Lucy Koh. So basically, Samsung can begin to argue that the ban should be lifted, given that it was found by a full jury that the tablet did in fact, not infringe on any design patents of Apple’s, but merely some software issues that can be amended.
As for now, who knows which way Judge Koh will lean. Time to get those arguments in, Samsung.
