If you watched even an ounce of television this weekend, then you likely saw at least one of Samsung’s new commercials for the Galaxy S4. We already showed you the lengthy “Pool Party” ad, but in case  you missed “Grad Photo” and “Easy Mode,” we’ve included those now as well.

In “Grad Photo,” Samsung highlights their Eraser camera mode that is great for taking out unwanted (photobombs) objects in photos. In “Easy Mode,” as the name suggests, shows off Easy Mode, which is Samsung’s dumbing down of the home screen setup to be less stressful and potentially for the older crowd.

[Deal] Samsung Galaxy S4 Unlocked With 16GB on Daily Steals for $679

galaxy s4 deal

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is up on Daily Steals this morning for a pretty decent price of $679. This would be the unlocked GT-I9500 model, which also means Exynos Octa processor. As many of you know, the Octa processor is not included in the U.S. retail model that ships to carriers, so this is somewhat of special event. At $679, you may be thinking that the phone is ridiculously high-priced, but unlocked phone re-sellers like Negri or Expansys are selling this phone for close to $750 and beyond.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Unboxing! [AT&T]

Samsung Galaxy S4

Yes, I’m well aware that we fully reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S4 already. But you know what, we like to do unboxings. And since we didn’t have a chance to do one the last time around thanks to an embargo, we thought we’d take the time to do a quick one now that we have the AT&T Galaxy S4 in hand. Who doesn’t love watching our grubby little blogger paws unbox the latest and greatest in tech that has been wrapped in faux-wood? Don’t lie.

Pro Tip: Don’t be the Guy Who Leaves the Hard-to-See Plastic Sticker Around the Rim of His Galaxy S4

samsung galaxy s4 plastic

When you pick-up your Samsung Galaxy S4 some time over the next few weeks (or month if on Verizon), we thought we should point out that the faux-metal band around the outside of the device is protected by a clear plastic sticker. It can be hard to see if you don’t know it’s there, so being the good samaritans that we are, wanted to make sure you knew about it. You could leave it if you’d like, I guess, but it’s not necessarily supposed to be there for the long haul. If you choose to remove it, you’ll find at least four pieces spread around the outside.

Update:  As Leif points out in the comments, there is also one around the camera, which you certainly want to remove.

Just lookin’ out.

Samsung’s Extensive Galaxy S4 Pool Party Commercial Proves They Have More Money to Spend on Marketing Than You

gs4 ad

Last night during TNT’s NBA broadcasts, Samsung’s new “Pool Party” ad for the Galaxy S4 popped up at least a couple of times. The ad is long, like a minute and a half long. If there was any doubt that their marketing budget is practically unlimited when it comes to their flagship phones, this should change that permanently. You almost have to feel a little bad for their competitors, because there is no way they can keep up with commercials played during special events at peak hours that are pushing almost two minutes in length.

Galaxy S4 Bootloader Unlock Not Available Until Verizon’s Version is Released

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4

Dan Rosenberg (@djrbliss) posted a teaser photo this morning of his success at cracking the bootloader on the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The initial reaction by most was, “When will the method be released to the public?!?” After a minimal wait, the answer has been given and is quite obvious if you think about it. Dan is waiting for Verizon to release their version of the Galaxy S4 at the end of May. Why would he do that, you ask?

Development for the Galaxy S4 is taking off by leaps and bounds now that the device is landing in the hands of developers. And you know it’s going to be a good time when the founder of CyanogenMod, Steve Kondik takes to Google+ to show off Samsung’s newest flagship running a build of his custom firmware. Along with his post, he says, “Definitely not supporting the S4.” Oh, that guy sure has some knee slappers.
