Thanks to a handful of initial reviews from select press that surfaced close to last Friday’s embargo time, everyone thinks the Moto 360 has terrible battery life. Forget the fact that these reviewers couldn’t possibly have given the device thorough testing on its battery in the 12 hours (some less) that they had the watch in hand, but after having one on wrist for four days now, I think I can safely say that battery life is no where near as terrible as it was made to sound.
Let’s talk about the Moto 360 and some battery-related items. (more…)

Best Buy slashed the price of the LG G Watch by $50 this weekend, dropping it to $179 in either black or white. That right there, is a pretty good deal for one of the original Android Wear devices, which originally retailed for $229. In fact, it still is $229 through Google Play.
We reviewed the G Watch and came away interested in the future of Android Wear as a platform, but were a little bored with the device’s design. Also, keep in mind that LG just announced their new premium round version of the G Watch, the G Watch R, which should put this device to shame. But, if you want in on the Android Wear game, this is the best deal in town.

Last night, the tech industry was treated to two new smartwatches from LG and Samsung, the G Watch R and Gear S. Both will go head-to-head with the Moto 360, a watch that is easily the most anticipated in the history of smartwatches, thanks to its round display. It’s a good time to be a smartwatch watcher.
We aren’t sure what has taken Motorola so long to release the 360 or provide us with official details on its features, but in that time, LG managed to create and unveil their own round watch, while Samsung attempted to do the same. The Moto 360 should still hit store shelves before either of those, though, so we wanted to put it up against the other two, to help you decide if it is still the watch for you (most of you are saying it is) or if waiting it out is the better option. LG hasn’t wasted any time in announcing their brand new round smartwatch, the G Watch R, a device that sports a circular Plastic OLED display and surprisingly premium build materials. This is far from the cheap plastic square we saw when LG announced the original G Watch just a couple of months ago. (more…)
At the beginning of this week, a new smartwatch from LG with a round face was nothing more than a rumor that was somewhat difficult to believe. Fast forward to today and we have both video and image teasers from LG for a watch that is indeed round and will be officially unveiled at IFA next week. It’s name could be G Watch R or R Watch or something completely different, but it is coming. To make matters even more official, the watch has already stopped by the FCC under model number LG-W110. Rumors of a new LG smartwatch making its debut at IFA in Berlin over the first week of September popped up a week ago. Those are no longer rumors, as LG unveiled an official teaser this morning for its latest smartwatch that will indeed be shown off at IFA. And guess what? It will be a round smartwatch. Call it the G Watch R or G Watch Round or whatever you feel like, one thing is certain – the Moto 360 now has a competitor in the round smartwatch space. (more…)
According to Korea Times, who source an unidentified LG official, the Korea-based manufacturer is almost finished on the second version of the G Watch, its Android Wear-powered smartwatch that was made available only a couple of months ago. Reportedly titled G Watch 2, the smartwatch is apparently a bit more high-end, set to compete with Apple’s upcoming “iWatch” device.
While the LG official claims that the G Watch 2’s unveiling is set for IFA, it was not specified if the watch would see a global unveiling or simply a client-only behind-closed-doors unveiling for VIPs. The one thing made certain was that it would be ready in time for IFA, though. (more…)
