Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 Now Receiving Android 4.4.2, Here is the Full Changelog

Verizon’s LG G Pad 8.3 LTE model is joining the Galaxy S5 in today’s update party. This update is quite significant though, unlike the bug fixer that was issued to the GS5. The G Pad 8.3 LTE on Big Red is receiving a big jump to Android 4.4.2 from Android 4.2.2. That’s right, Kit Kat is finally here.

The update brings Kit Kat goodies like new white icons in the notification area, immersive mode for viewing images and reading books, cloud print services, multi-user login, and more. In terms of other features, the update includes LG’s Knock Code lock screen security enhancement.  (more…)

Google is Cleaning Up Its Google Play Edition Section – Only One (M8), Moto G, and Galaxy S4 Remain

Just before Google I/O, we pointed out the fact that the majority of Google Play Edition devices on Google Play had become depleted of inventory, with only the One (M8) and Moto G showing as available for purchase. LG Announces Three New G Pad Tablets

This evening, shortly before posting a new promo video for the G Watch, LG also announced three new tablets to its G Pad line – the G Pad 7.0, 8.0, and 10.1. All three tablets will be officially unveiled May13-16 at MedPI 2014, a European tech show.

These new tablets are joining the G Pad 8.3 to provide new options for tablets users who want choices in size. No specs have been given, but all include LG’s proprietary UX with features like QPair and Knock Code.

As you can imagine, the 7.0 is a 7-inch tablet that is made for one-handed use. The 8.0 is a mid-sized tablet with an “immersive multimedia experience.” The 10.1 is the big dog, a tablet that provides “endless hours of entertainment and fun.” And that is all we know. (more…)

Verizon started selling both the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 and LG G Pad 8.3 today. One of them is priced quite reasonably, while the other – well, I’ll let you decide after we tell you the price. The LG G Pad 8.3, a tablet many think is an excellent combination of size and high-end internals, can be picked up for $99 on 2-year contract or $299 without one. Not bad, right?  (more…)

LG G Pad 8.3 for Verizon Press Render Leaked

Want a G Pad 8.3 from LG that can connect to Verizon’s 4G LTE network? According to the latest tweet from @evleaks, it’s definitely coming soon. In the tweet, Evan posted up a press render of the G Pad 8.3, complete with two Verizon logos and a healthy-sized 4G LTE logo on its backside. As we posted last month, the tablet stopped by the FCC with Verizon radios inside, so these renders lend more credence to that report. (more…)
