In last year’s contest, we upped the stakes by giving a way a phone of choice to the winner. Since that seemed to go over well, and our winner walked away with a brand new DROID RAZR MAXX, we’re sticking to that formula. Madden 2012 Also Available on Android Today is a post from: Droid Life

It’s that time of year again – the time to grab a case of Natty Ice, some nacho cheese dip with Fritos, and cruise over to Big Willie’s garage to get down with your fantasy football draft.  Or if you live in 2011, you could just register online, invite all of your friends via email and sit in your recliner with your own case of cheap beer and cheese dip and get down without having to move an inch.

This has nothing to do with Android and I don’t care.  It’s Super Bowl time, people.  While many of us will be keeping our eyes glued to our HD screens during breaks so that we don’t miss the new Motorola XOOM and Angry Birds ads, we also can’t forget about the game itself.  One of our readers who won a trip to Super Bowl XLV is already there waving his Terrible Towel with his son, but what about the rest of you?

Get ready for some Droid Life football action!  I know it seems like we’ve been talking a lot of fantasy football lately, but we can’t help it with the season starting in just 2 days.  And to celebrate the return of America’s most popular game, we’re launching another contest!  Who wants $100 cash in their Paypal pocket?  Well that’s exactly what we’re giving away to the winner of our Survivor Game.  Not familiar with Survivor games?  Let’s break this down for you…

Here are some basics:

The object of Yahoo! Sports Survival Football is to be the last Active member of your individual group.

In order to accomplish this goal, you must correctly pick the winner of one professional football game each week. In groups that use more than 1 Strike (i.e., incorrect pick), you may be allowed to miss up to 2 times and still be the group winner.

To make this simple sounding game more of a challenge, you can only select each professional football team once during the regular season while an Active member of an individual group. Team restrictions will be reset at the beginning the playoffs (in groups that pick through the playoffs), and you will again be able to pick each team once.

If a correct selection is made, you will remain Active for the following week. If an incorrect selection is made (or the game ends in a tie), you will be incur a Strike and could be Eliminated, depending on the group’s settings.

ESPN wasn’t about to be left in the fantasy football dust after Yahoo! dropped their FF app and a new player called HuddleHub sneaking into the picture any day now.  On Saturday, the sports giant launched their own FF app, only this guy isn’t free.  For $4.99, you can snag it in the market.  Yeah $5 seems like a lot, but to fantasy football addicts, what’s another $5 right?  This app does come packed full of features in case you were wondering.  You cann add/drop players, check projections, see injury news, player cards, matchups, and so much more.

And to help ease your mind on features, I’ve grabbed about as many screenshots as I can to show you exactly what you are getting.  Enjoy!

ESPN Fantasy Football App Hits Market is a post from: Droid Life

ESPN Fantasy Football addicts were probably a little jealous yesterday after seeing that Yahoo had released its official FF app and rightfully so.  After all, ESPN claims to be a “leader” yet can’t even pump out a simple mobile app for one of its biggest online money makers.  Don’t worry though, we think we have an option!

It’s called HuddleHub and claims to be a fantasy football app that allows you to pull in your Yahoo and ESPN leagues with a full management experience!  Seriously, sounds too good to be true right?  Well apparently it’ll launch within the next few days assuming they want it out before the season starts.  We should also note that the i*hone version launched on August 30th, so let’s hope the Android version isn’t far behind.

Update:  We had a chance to chat with the HuddleHub crew and we have release information!

Right now we are going to be releasing a Lite and Premium version of our app. The Lite application will be available this upcoming Monday, September 6th. The Lite application functionality will include on 9/6: 1) Add/Drop players, 2) Import Teams, 3) View Rosters, 4) Live Scores, and of course 5) registering/logging into HuddleHub. Come 9/9 (the first day of the football season) we will have Start/Bench available for the Lite version of the application.

The premium version of the application (launch date undetermined) will have all of the aforementioned features with Injury Player Notifications, Free Agent Notifications, and a Touchdown tracker.

So we’ve got a Lite version with a ton of features launching on Monday (9/6) and the Premium version with injury reports and additional goodies still in the works.  Who’s ready for some football?
