Now that the live event is over, Facebook is giving the press a chance to take a look at their newly announced HTC First device running their also newly announced Facebook Home. The First sports a 4.3″ 720p display, runs a Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera, connects over AT&T’s 4G LTE network, and sports Android 4.1 underneath their custom launcher. It’ll come in 4 colors (white, black, red, and pale blue) at a price of $99.99 with new 2-year contract. The first can be pre-ordered starting today and will launch April 12.  (more…)

HTC and AT&T Announce the HTC First, Also Known as the First Facebook Phone – Available April 12 for $99

The Facebook announcements continue on this morning with HTC and AT&T partnering up to release the first Facebook-focused phone, the HTC First. It’s available April 12 (same day as Facebook Home) for $99.99 on contract at AT&T. You can pre-order today if you’d like. Oh, it has LTE as well. The device sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, 4.3″ 720p display, 5MP rear camera, 1GB RAM, and runs Android 4.1. (more…)

Facebook Announces New Android Skin/Launcher/App Pack Dubbed “Home”

It’s official, Facebook has announced their new “home on Android.” It’s called Home and is essentially a third party launcher or skin or pack of apps that can be installed on any Android device to make people come first, rather than apps (if that made sense). As expected, Facebook wants to become the focal point of your device every time you unlock it, so having a launcher take control is a major step in the direction of making that happen.  (more…)

This May be the First Look at the Facebook Phone UI

At this point, it’s no secret that Facebook is going to unveil a home replacement launcher for Android tomorrow called Facebook Home, coupled with a device potentially dubbed the “HTC First.” It’s the Facebook phone that has long been rumored, yet one that we aren’t sure was or is really needed. Is Facebook’s Phone the HTC First?


We have heard a lot of speculation about what is going to be announced by Facebook at their event on Thursday, but if this new image is true we could see a second shot at a Facebook phone. The image above was posted to the usually spot-on @evleaks Twitter account moments ago with the name HTC First. We’ve been hearing rumors of an HTC partnership, but this is certainly more than the new launcher or skin that some outlets have been reporting.  (more…)
