Quick hitter here, since it’s nothing new, but does give us the 8th, 9th or 10th confirmation on specs for the DROID RAZR. The latest report has the device with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3″ display, 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE and is thinner and faster than the iPhone 4S. Of course the source is going to say that, they likely work for Motorola. The thin part though, we like to hear, but aren’t surprised by after seeing a ton of photos of it now. Like I said, this new report is nothing new that we haven’t heard a dozen times by now.

And here are the other specs that we have compiled from previous reports:

1.2GHz dual-core processor (could be the OMAP that is in the Galaxy Nexus)

1GB of RAM

4.3″ qHD Super AMOLED screen (different PenTile)

4G LTE

Incredibly thin (possibly the thinnest phone on the market)

8MP rear camera (possibly newer than what the Bionic has – meaning it actually works)

“HD” front camera

Gorilla Glass screen

Kevlar build materials

Side lock switch

Android 2.3.5

New Blue Blur

We will know for sure on Tuesday in New York, but from what we are hearing, this should be Moto’s finest effort yet. Is it enough to compete with the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich? That battle may come down to battery life and a bootloader.

Faster. Thinner. Smarter. Stronger. 10.18.2011. If those clues from the video weren’t enough to lead you to believe the DROID RAZR is up next and about to be announced by Motorola and Verizon, then maybe the actual razor cutting through things was.

Rumored all of the place in the last month and once known as the DROID HD, the RAZR marks the return of one of Moto’s most successful brands only this time sporting Android. Rumored to have kevlar and Gorilla Glass as just a couple of its materials, we now know what “stronger” means. Thin we knew from the leaked shots of it back in early August. Faster we get from its 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 4G LTE connectivity. Smarter could mean a variety of things.

The phone is already in Verizon’s Cellebrite system, something that usually indicates a semi-soon arrival.

Update: Press invites are going out for a 10/18 event with both VZW and Motorola.

Update 2: We shouldn’t be so closed-minded to the idea that this is the next generation of XOOM devices. The razor in the teaser along with the kevlar vest allowed us to jump to the idea of it being this phone rather than a tablet. Could be both though!

Update 3: Moto’s Facebook page is talking about the event as if it is going to be just one product – “Our next big innovation is coming.”

Update 4: The press image was named “Spyder” – a name we first reported months ago. DROID RAZR incoming.

All I know, is this phone looks amazing.

Motorola has reportedly began snatching up domain names through Corporation Service Company relating to a device supposedly called the DROID RAZR, better known around here as the DROID HD. Rumor has it that Motorola is planning on releasing the 4G enabled device sometime around the holidays and Moto’s recent acquisitions definitely fuel that fire.

Along the long list of recently purchased domains are razormoto.com, motorazr.net, motorolarazr.net, and many many other variants. All the links go to empty pages of course and are just a sign that the DROID “HD” RAZR is very real. We just saw the device pass through the Nenamark with a hefty 1.2GHz processor, so soon we will see exactly just what is up Moto’s sleeves.

I’m sort of hoping this name scheme drops off completely and they just call it the “RAZR HD”. Sounds awesome, right?

The DROID RAZR aka DROID HD aka Motorola Spyder made its first appearance in a benchmark over at Nenamark this weekend. From a quick look at some of the details that were included, we can see that a qHD screen (960×540) is confirmed along with what should be an OMAP4430 clocked at 1.2GHz (“Turbo”). It could end up as the 4460 which runs at a minimum of 1.5GHz, but those have reportedly been delayed. We have Verizon mentioned as the brand, but we expected that after a variety of leaks.

Rumors would peg this as one of Verizon’s big 4G LTE holiday releases – the device manager and Cellebrite sightings from the end of last week would certainly help those arguments.

I think the question many of us are asking now is, “Vigor, Nexus or RAZR?”

Normally when you see a phone appear in Cellebrite, it’s almost always followed up by an appearance here, but we like DM because we get more details about the phone.

As you can see here, it’s most definitely a 4G LTE device, but for whatever reason may not be global. I know that some of you love your global roamers – this just may not be the next of them. Can the fact that the DROID HD is ultra-thin and no longer sports a PenTile screen outweigh that note though? For most people, yes.

Talk about the type of info we love to see on a late Friday afternoon. Loaded (as of this week) into Cellebrite systems, we have three devices that have been on the minds of all Android enthusiasts over the last few weeks: Nexus Prime (Galaxy Nexus?), DROID HD (RAZR?), and the HTC Vigor (Rezound?). While no other details ever accompany Cellebrite listings, we do at least get further confirmation that all of these phones exist along with their model numbers. The Prime as we all know is SCH-I515 and the DROID HD is XT912. The Vigor for some reason is listed under its FCC number as PH98100, but should hit stores as the ADR6425.

The DROID HD:

The HTC Vigor:

The Vigor should be the first of these devices to hit store shelves and has two rumored dates at this time: October 13 and October 20. The Nexus Prime should be next at either the end of October or early November, followed by the DROID HD some time around the holidays.

Cheers ___!

Last month we reported on a new Motorola device codenamed Spyder that at first, was popping up around the web as the DROID HD. Now, thanks to a set of images and word from sources over at This is my next, this device has been confirmed and could end up as the DROID RAZR at launch. Name ring a bell? It was only a matter of time before that iconic mobile phone name was rehashed by the folks at Moto.

So what do we have inside? It has a 4.3″ qHD screen except it’s not PenTile matrix and is instead Super AMOLED (possibly a world’s first). There is a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (possibly a “turbo” OMAP4), 4G LTE (Verizon), 1GB of RAM, 8MP camera, “HD” front camera, and webtop capabilities. The outer build is “Gorilla Glass and a Kevlar casing with a splash-guard coating.”

What we are noticing is that sexy new angled look that Moto has adopted, something we most recently saw on our exclusive pictures of the XOOM 2. We also love the side lock switch and of course, how incredibly thin this phone is.

No word on a time frame for release, but are crossing our fingers for the holidays.

Two more pictures after the break.

Anyone in love? Thoughts on the RAZR name?

The mysterious DROID HD took the tech world by storm on Monday when it appeared in a variety of photos over at Engadget. Up until that point, we had only seen the name attached to some Flickr photos and on an Asian site with photos of a follow-up Atrix - we definitely had no other details of it.

After the pics went live though, we reached out to our sources to see what we could dig up, since there were some questions as to whether or not this was the rumored Motorola Dinara. Well first off, we have been told that this phone is not the Dinara, but is instead the Motorola Spyder (codename of course). It is more of a brother to the Photon 4G than anything, has a “different” screen and smaller MP camera than the Dinara, and should be headed to Verizon – something we could have all guessed if the “DROID” name attached to it holds up.

As for the Dinara, we know that many people are under the impression that it is headed to AT&T, but our sources assure us that the device is at this time being tested on Verizon LTE. Could it end up on AT&T only as one of their first LTE devices? Most definitely. Especially with this Spyder device looking like Verizon’s next big Moto offering. Our sources also mentioned that the Dinara is the higher-end device of the two, but were not told exactly why.

Keep it in Rumorville for now. Add it to the list of codenames to keep an eye out for.

Cheers ___!

(Updated) is a post from: Droid Life

And, whoa. You be looking at Motorola’s next big device, called the DROID HD. We’ve seen this name a number of times before, but up until this morning, had not had even a glimpse at what it may look like. Well folks, here you go. Prepare to be blown away by what could be one of the thinnest devices on the planet – one that makes the Bionic look like a thick tank.

The device is said to have a 4.5″ screen (more than likely HD, hence the name), Android 2.3 (stock?), 8MP HD camera, front camera, and HDMI out. There is also a compartment on the side for loading a microSD and SIM card (suggesting non-removable battery), something that would lead us to believe this phone is 4G LTE. We could probably go ahead and assume it’ll run some next-gen dual-core processor, but those specs were not reveiled. Lock switch on the side; same size as the Bionic with a potentially larger screen.

Update: As one dedicated reader (zepfloyd) pointed out, this indeed sounds exactly like the Motorola Dinara we reported on back in July. Our sources said that the device would have an HD screen, lock switch on the side, would be the same size as the Bionic but with a bigger screen, a non-removable battery, and would be much, much thinner. Yep, I’d say this is it.

Update 2: Just heard from our sources that this is not the Dinara. Hoping to have more details soon.

Most importantly though, this phone is unbelievable thin. Let’s jump through a series of photos that compare it to the Bionic, so you can really get a feel for what the DROID HD may be.

(DROID HD on the right)

Still can’t tell how thin it is next to the Bionic? Check this one out:

And how about another by itself – brace yourselves:

Try and tell me you aren’t blown away by that? We are talking Galaxy S II thin here, unless of course this guy has the biggest hands on the planet. Whatever Motorola has planned for the future though, we are most definitely looking to be a part of it. There is also a shot of that side lock switch.

Here is the side compartment with SIM and SD slot:

And finally, one more comparison to the Bionic:

There is no telling when this device could see the light of day, especially with the Bionic not even in stores yet. We are thinking there is a chance for the holiday season, since Moto CEO Sanjay Jha told us last month that they would have another LTE phone by the end of the year. They could easily have meant on AT&T’s network though, but we’re hoping for Big Red.

I’m officially blown away. Let us know how you are feeling.

*Note – In the pack of pics that were sent to Engadget, there was a look at a device with the back off, showing the battery. That picture was of the Bionic’s battery, not this DROID HD.

A set of photos has popped up over at Flickr that appears to have been taken with an unannounced device called the Motorola DROID HD. At first we blew it off as being nothing or possibly someone messing with EXIF tags, but as we dug through some additional photos from this user, we noticed that they also had images posted that were taken with a DROID3. And to make things ever more interesting, all of the photos were geo-tagged from inside Motorola’s offices in Libertyville, IL, just off of Motorola Parkway.

So what the heck is the DROID HD? We have absolutely no idea. Could it be the new Bionic or something to come just after? Are we talking massive HD screen or just a marketing tag?

One thing I can tell you, is that we’ll be digging for more…
