The Madfinger development team is definitely in the Christmas spirit, as they just launched an update to Dead Trigger revolving around the holidays. Inside, you will find a new North Pole Christmas arena, including a new boss called “ZANTA.” On top of that, you can equip a grenade launcher which should certainly help you get through a few waves of rabid reindeer.

Madfinger Pushes Winter Update to Dead Trigger, Prepare to Battle Zanta is a post from: Droid Life

Two days ago, we mentioned that Madfinger Games was to release a Halloween update for their zombie-killing epic hit, Dead Trigger. Today, the update is live and you can go grab it in Google Play right now. The update isn’t just some random pumpkin-headed zombies either. Madfinger included a brand new cemetery arena, reduced price for the minigun (fun!), and the brand new crossbow weapon complete with ballistic arrows. That should be exciting. 

Another game that we love that has received an update in time for Halloween is Ski Safari. Inside the update is new Halloween-inspired costumes, new spooky slopes, and “Eagle Bluffs.” If you’re still reading this you should stop and go pick up these updates.

I don’t know about you, but I still love blowing the heads off of zombies. Yesterday, Madfinger Games announced that a special Halloween-themed edition of Dead Trigger would land on Google Play. Naturally, it’s “coming soon” with no official date, but I would guess this Friday or next Monday at the latest.

From the image above, we can see there’s some pumpkin-brained zombies and maybe there will even be some new weapons and maps? And speaking of Madfinger, have you tried out the Shadowgun:DeadZone beta? It’s still my favorite game at the moment.

Madfinger Has Halloween Themed Update for Dead Trigger Coming Out is a post from: Droid Life

Whenever Dead Trigger gets a mention, we can’t help but think about the launch controversy that initially accompanied it. Madfinger, the makers of the game, charged users for the game up front and then also hawked in-app purchases of guns and add-ons to help you cruise through levels easier. If you checked out the comments and reviews for the game during its first couple of weeks, you were bound to be overwhelmed by negativity. Thankfully, they made the game free after a short period of time, but kept the in-app add-ons.

Normally, app developers either go the freemium route (free app + in-app add-ons) or simply make you pay for it up front with no additional costs to follow. Madfinger threw everyone for a loop, but eventually came around to one of the standard models. And that brings us to today’s poll.

If you happen to be one of the many people who bought the game for a dollar before it was made free due to “unbelievably high piracy rates,” you’re going to love this update. For those that purchased, there is a brand new alien gun, new Story missions, new items such as a laser turret and mini-mortars, and free gold + Casino chips. Not bad.

Madfinger’s Dead Trigger Update Goes Live, Early Buyers Receive Good Compensation is a post from: Droid Life

Madfinger Games has published yet another update to Dead Trigger, the main feature being a fix for that nasty 180º turning bug. It’s hard to explain, but sometimes when you were moving or reloading your weapon, you would instantly be facing the opposite direction, which has gotten me killed quite a few times. 

Here’s the full changelog that was posted along with the update:

Full Changelog:

• Not working controls (on Xperia devices or “180° Turn”)
• Too high difficulty of enemies on higher ranks (SWAT zombies)
• Crash in Menu when too many missions were “available”

Another Dead Trigger Update Goes Live, Fixes That Pesky 180º Turn Bug is a post from: Droid Life

Last week, Madfinger Games published an updated version of Dead Trigger to Google Play. Along with the massive update, the publisher also decided to drop the game’s price from a low $0.99 to completely free. Many early buyers were somewhat confused by this decision and took to Madfinger’s social media outlets to see if they intended on either refunding people’s money or would give them all in-app credit. 

Madfinger’s Statement:

Regarding price drop. HERE is our statement. The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high. At first we intend to make this game available for as many people as possible – that’s why it was for as little as buck. – It was much less than 8$ for SHADOWGUN but on the other hand we didn’t dare to provide it for free, since we hadn’t got XP with free-to-play format so far.

However, even for one buck, the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide DEAD TRIGGER for free. Anyway – DEAD TRIGGER is not FREEMIUM, it always was and still remains FREE-TO-PLAY, that means, all players are able to play it without IAP! We stand up for this statement, because all members of our team are playing (and enjoying) DEAD TRIGGER without IAP.

So, it’s those pesky pirates who are to blame. For those who were hoping to maybe get a refund or some in-game credit are most likely out of luck, but in all honesty, the game is still worth a dollar in my eyes. It’s a fantastic shooter with unbelievable graphics, so hopefully by making it free, more people will be enticed to give it a try (without having to steal it) and will see just how awesome it is.

According to Madfinger’s Facebook page, the Dead Trigger V1.1.0 update is live. Now that the app is uploaded to Google Play, all we have to do is wait for it to become visible to users. The update brings additional gadgets, guns, and brain splattering goodness to the title which was already a huge hit with most FPS lovers. 

Update: Along with the update, they have also made the game free for everyone. No more $0.99 purchase. You now have zero reason not to try it out.

For only a dollar, it’s probably the furthest a single dollar has ever gone in the history of mobile gaming. Get it.

Madfinger’s Dead Trigger to Receive Major Update: “More Blood, More Guns, More Gadgets” is a post from: Droid Life

If you play Madfinger’s Dead Trigger, but don’t own a Tegra 3 powered device, then you’re missing out. NVIDIA teamed up with Madfinger to bring better graphics for Tegra 3 chips, but unfortunately, that leaves some users longing for more in the aesthetics department. 

Don’t worry, the Android developer community is here to the rescue. If you own a rooted device, then you can make a simple edit to the game’s files which will allow for the better graphics playback.

Instructions:

1. First of all, enable graphics details to high in setup/others.
2. Exit game.
3. Use root explorer like ES File Explorer.
4. Go to /data/data/com.madfingergames.deadtrigger/shared_prefs/ folder.
5. Edit com.madfingergames.deadtrigger.xml file.
6. Change < int name=”UnityGraphicsQuality” value=”1″ /> to <int name=”UnityGraphicsQuality” value=”2″ / >.
7. Change < int name=”OptionsGraphicDetail” value=”2″ /> to <int name=”OptionsGraphicDetail” value=”3″ / >.
8. Save it.
9. Modify permissions to remove all write permission on User, Group and Other.
10. Delete com.madfingergames.deadtrigger.xml.bak.

The good folks over at NVIDIA are currently showing off five new exciting game titles at their E3 booth down in Los Angeles. The games are not available for download yet, but there’s nothing wrong with getting them hyped up. The new Tegra 3 optimized games are titled Dead Trigger, Bounty Arms, Heroes Call, Puddle, and Demons’ Score. What has me the most excited is definitely Dead Trigger. The game comes from the same makers of Shadowgun and it’s all about zombies and taking them down with huge guns. Just what I needed! 

Below is a screenshot from each of the games and a brief description that was provided by NVIDIA and the publishers. After checking them out, let us know which one might have you the most excited.

Dead Trigger - The world has collapsed and meat-eating zombies are after you! This first-person shooter takes advantage of the Tegra 3 processor to provide exclusive effects like enhanced water, specular lighting, volumetric fog and ragdoll physics.

Bounty Arms – This exciting 3D side-scrolling action game will be playable for the first time at E3. Open-Reset and Luma Arcade are working closely with NVIDIA to create Tegra-exclusive enhancements for Bounty Arms on Android, tapping the graphics potential of Tegra 3.  These enhancements include visual and performance upgrades and exclusive content like co-op play and advanced particle effects.

With the very real scare of zombies going around these days, we all have to prepare ourselves somehow. From the makers of Shadowgun THD, one of the best looking Android games to-date, MADFINGER Games has announced DEAD TRIGGER. You’ve got it all here: guns, zombies and lots of bullets, what’s there to ask questions about?

The game is soon to be hitting Android and the Tegra Zone, the place for games that the Tegra 3 powerhouse processor specializes in. The Tegra edition of the game will feature boosted graphics, ragdoll physics and some more goodies thanks to that quad-core. Hopefully the slow zombies will help with the on-screen controls. The game is set to launch later this month.
