Even if we posted a new custom theme for the Galaxy Nexus every day for the remainder of the year, I don’t think we would be able to post them all. There is such a strong and passionate developer community surrounding this device that reminds us so much of the good ‘ol OG DROID days. The next theme we are spotlighting is Nexus Plus, which will run on top of the Android Open Kang Project’s Build 28 ROM or Rootzboat 8.2. Both of which are fantastic ROM choices for Nexus owners. 

This theme aims to darken, but also colorize certain aspects of the device. It’s very pretty and sort of gives off that nice blue glow which Ice Cream Sandwich is best known for. If you are looking to further your Nexus experience, then we recommend trying it out.

You must be on AOKP Build 28 or Rootzboat 8.2 to flash this theme!

Instructions for installing:

Rootzboat 8.2 Theme Zip File | AOKP Build 28 Theme Zip File

1. Download zip file and place on phone’s storage.
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery and create Nandroid backup.
3. Locate zip file and install.
4. Reboot and enjoy!

Custom Theme Friday: Nexus Plus for AOKP Build 28 or Rootzboat 8.2 is a post from: Droid Life

Gray and red may not be two colors that one would think go together, but it surprisingly looks pretty good. If you have a Galaxy Nexus and are running the Android Open Kang Project’s Milestone 4 build then you might benefit from checking this one out. Big shout out to Zathus over at RootzWiki for going with something out of the ordinary and new. 

You must be on AOKP’s Milestone 4 build in order to flash properly.

Instruction on installation:

1. Download the theme zip file.
2. Place on phone’s storage.
3. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery and create a nandroid backup.
4. Find theme zip and install.
5. Reboot and enjoy!

Custom Theme Friday: Gray and Red for Android Open Kang Project Milestone 4 is a post from: Droid Life

Custom ROMs are great for having a ton of extra features and abilities, but what about when you want to change the look of your entire handset. That’s where custom themes take over. This particular one called Glowing Green, comes from developer Kevin3328 and it will make your Galaxy Nexus stand out bright green in a sea of blues.

Turning all system controls and apps into a nice bright shade of green will be perfect for those people who celebrate St. Patrick’s Day throughout the year. And with the greenest of all the holidays coming up, now would be a good time to flash it. Below we have installation instructions and the zip files for you to download and install. 

Note: We know Milestone 4 has been released , but the theme has not yet been updated. Bookmark the forum page so you can flash the theme later once it has been updated if you wish. Thanks.

1. Download the zip file that matches which AOKP build you are running.

Custom Theme Friday: Glowing Green for Android Open Kang Project is a post from: Droid Life

A few days ago I went on a hunt for a retro feel for my Nexus S. I stumbled on some pictures of good ‘ol Froyo, and thought to myself how that might look. I started searching the Market for a Froyo CM7 theme, but with no avail. I went to Twitter and asked my followers if they knew where to find one. Huge props to M1ghtySauc3 for finding this for me.

If you want to remember how Froyo looked (but not felt), then definitely check this ‘theme’ out. Sometimes, you have to relive the past to appreciate the present. “Bubble icons FTW.”

Custom Theme Friday: Retro Droid For CM7 Theme Chooser is a post from: Droid Life

Just a couple weeks ago I showed you the newest theme to hit the streets by Paul aka “RaidZero“. Well, he is now offering all the major colors for everyone’s downloading delight on the Android Market. I have been fortunate enough to test and try out all the different colors, and they are definitely going to stay on my phone for a while. 

There are almost too many colors to choose from, but I suppose if I had to choose one, it would have to be purple, or blue. Which color you get is up to you, but you might as well get them all. They are sure to turn some heads at the next office meeting, and only run $1 a pop.

Custom Theme Friday: RaidZero Delivers The Entire Color Spectrum For “NRG” is a post from: Droid Life

We’re quite fond of the developers like Koveleski and Tha Phlash who are always bringing us new ways to make our phones sparkle with custom goodness. What’s so great about these different themes is that you don’t even have to be rooted to enjoy them, and all you need is a home replacement launcher such as LauncherPro Plus and ADW EX.

We’re going to post links to just five, but they have a very large list of themes, with even more on the horizon. You can check out some really awesome work that they have planned by visiting Tha Phlash’s website, here.

There are free versions of all these themes, but may we highly recommend the Pro versions. In the Pro versions, you will get a lot more fun icons that will take the place of every stock app on your phone. Plus, we want to support these guys for putting so much time and effort in.

Custom Theme Friday: Five Kovdev Themes For ADW EX And LauncherPro Plus is a post from: Droid Life

We’re not shy to show our love for DropTheme. It’s been one our favorites for a long time, and now that it has been ported to the CM7 theme chooser in the market, it makes enjoying these themes so much more easy on all of our devices. And if you’re one of our newest CM7 users due to the release of CM4DX, then definitely check these out. There’s a few basic colors to choose from so far, including all the classics. Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow have been a landmark in the theme world.

Custom Theme Friday: DropTheme For CM7 is a post from: Droid Life

I officially declare myself a theme wh*re and am currently seeking attention. I didn’t think I would jump on the bandwagon for getting my phone to look like Gingerbread as quickly as I did. But, what can I say? The UI is sexy! I asked my good buddy Koveleski of DarkEdge, if he could whip something up for me. He obliged and did a great job. Thanks Dave! I owe you.

He asked which ROM it should be for. Well here’s another shout out to CVPCS and Sniffle on the Sapphire Team. Thanks for making a great DROID ROM! I chose Sapphire 1.1 because of the sheer smoothness that comes along with this ROM. But don’t worry everybody! You will see this shortly on every other ROM for the DROID. I got your backs.

After the jump, I’ll have some instructions and download links for you if you wanna join me down the Gingerbread road.

OG DROID Only Please

Instructions:

1. You will need to be on Sapphire 1.1. So after flashing that. Proceed to Step 2.
2. Download this zip and place on root of SD Card. GingerShred Zip
3. Boot into Recovery an select “Install ZIP from SD”
4. Navigate to zip and hit your gold camera button.

After it’s all done installing, reboot and enjoy the brown cookie goodness.
Also, you will have to go into your GEM Settings and switch some of the colors. Most notably, the clock and date. Other than that, you are good to go. To get the launcher looking like G.B. just follow the instructions on this post. Now go and enjoy!

Another glorious Friday has come! I’m feeling good today, so I have decided to shoot for a double Custom Theme day, plus I really enjoy this developer’s work.  He has a ton of themes with matching boot animations that were created by himself and his girlfriend!  Here’s my question though…“Why can’t I have a girl like dat?”

The base ROM for these themes is called LiQuId FrOzEn YoGuRt that has great overall stability and coolness, but remains classy and streamlined.  

Instructions:

This is for the “OG” Droid1.

1. Download the LFY 1.7 ROM HERE.
2. After installing and getting tired of the stock look, download the Pink or Tangerine themes.
3. Place Zip file on base of SD Card, pop open ROM Manager and select “Install ROM from SD Card.”
4. Navigate to the Zip and hit it.
5. Please make a backup just in case!
6. This is the really important step…ENJOY!

DROID Theme Friday: Pink and Tang for LFY is a post from: Droid Life

Another great week down!  We had Kellex at OpenFeint in my neck of the woods (That was fun.).  We got 4G on the Droid Incredible? And I’m changing the name of the IRC to CCROM-Life? More about that after the break…or not.

So since the release of Bugless Beast Version Zero Point Five, I have been looking for a theme to throw on top and I think I have found someone who knows what I’m shooting for. Widgets, whole APK’s, Pulldown Menu, and even your Mommas Pajamas are themed here! Yes, please!

I present RZ Alien Darkness by ‘RaidZero’.  Enjoy…

Instructions:

This theme is intended for Bugless Beast V 0.5 but is available on other ROMs (Sapphire, FRG22D)

1. After installing Bugless Beast please download the theme right—> RZ_frg22d_Alien-update.zip

2. Place theme zip on the root of your SD Card.

3. Open ROM Manager and select “Install ROM for SD Card”

4. Locate the theme file and select it.

5. Make a backup just in case. This goes without saying. You may skip wipe data/cache.

6. Sit back and allow Clockwork to do its thing. Enjoy!!!
