It is officially the week of teases, as ASUS continues the trend, this time revealing an official name for its upcoming smartwatch, the ZenWatch. Not to be outdone by Motorola and LG, Asus is continuing to tease its first foray into the wearable market. Ahead of its September 3 unveiling at IFA in Berlin, Asus on Facebook this morning posted two images of its prototypical smartwatch, a sort of rectangular device with rounded edges and what looks to be an interchangeable wristband. With ASUS taking to Twitter and teasing an upcoming announcement with the quote, “Time has been transformed and we have changed,” first spoken by Khalil Gibran, it won’t be any surprise when the company unveils its Android Wear-powered smartwatch on September 3 at an IFA event in Berlin, Germany. AT&T and Asus gave the Padfone X a release date today, only about six months after it was first introduced to the world. Originally announced back at CES in January, the Padfone X has been teased and mentioned by AT&T for weeks, but only now do we know how much it will cost and when it can be bought.

From what we see in a new promo video for the ASUS Padfone X on AT&T, both companies look to have taken a page out of Samsung’s commercial playbook. In this corny, yet adorable commercial, a gentleman is at a park, where he happens upon a pretty girl and her dog.
The man mouths, “Oh, is that your dog?” She replies, “Yeah.” From here, he lays down the smooth line, “Oh, let me show you my dog!” After showing her one picture on his Padfone X, he decides it would better to bring out his full Padfone tablet station, allowing her to see even larger pictures of dogs. Ever since the PadFone X from ASUS was announced at CES this year, we have been patiently waiting to learn more about the device. We know that it will be on AT&T, that it will have LTE Advanced, feature HD Voice and VoLTE, but that was about it.
Because there aren’t already enough failing Android-powered game consoles, it appears as if ASUS is ready to throw their hat into the ring with the Game Box. Recently going through Bluetooth certification, a wireless controller for the alleged set-top box is pictured, showing a decent design with the looks of a hybrid Xbox/Playstation style. (more…)
