This morning, the great Angry Birds title of all time, Angry Birds Star Wars, was updated to feature the new Cloud City episode with twenty new levels. As a cherry on top, Rovio also included new Boba Fett missions which can be unlocked by finding hidden rocket pads or by purchasing them via in-app purchase. To see the full changelog, check below.

Today, you can go grab the HD versions of three big titles from Rovio, including Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Space, and Amazing Alex. With HD, you will notice a few more details here and there in terms of looks and overall aesthetics of the gameplay. No telling how long the sale will last, so if you have to buy these games, I guess now would be the time.

Twenty new levels are now available for Angry Birds Star Wars. The pack is called Escape from Hoth and it looks like you’ll be seeing quite a bit of Leia and Chewy in this one. As you make your way into the asteroid field, you better watch out for those mynock pigs!

The update for Angry Birds Star Wars that introduces the Hoth episode is now live on Google Play. It’s filled with 4-legged walkers (AT-AT), ice, 20 new levels, and the pink Princess Leia bird. I hate to keep admitting this, but this is by far the best Angry Birds yet. For those with a DROID DNA, the game still does not work even after this update.

After what seemed like forever of hyping and trailer releases, it’s November 8, 2012. That can only mean one thing for Android fans – it’s Angry Birds Star Wars Day! I’ve played through a few of the levels already and I have to say, I am happy. The soundtrack is exactly what I was hoping for. There are plenty of lightsaber “woosh” sounds and the overall look of the game pays mighty homage to the series that I love so very much. Now the only problem is how do I convince Kellex that I’m sick and watch the movies instead of work? 

Just as I suspected, there is a free version and a paid “HD” version. With the paid version, which runs $2.99, you gain access to 40 extra levels which will then help you unlock the lightsaber weapon. Worth it? Quite possibly if you’re a Star Wars nut like myself.

Is this the breath of fresh air that Angry Birds has been needing? I think so.

It’s Finally Here – Angry Birds Star Wars Released on Android is a post from: Droid Life

This will be the last time we talk about Angry Birds Star Wars until it launches, I promise you that. This morning, Rovio released the officially official launch trailer for the game that is set to release on November 8. They have hyped this game more than any other game I can remember, releasing teaser trailer, after gameplay trailer, after more gameplay trailers. 

In this one, we get a good look at almost all of the different birds/characters and see all of their powers. It looks like a fun game, plus there is even a Millennium Falcon sighting near the end which is pretty bossy.

Today, Rovio has released yet another Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay trailer. This time we have the great Han Solo and Chewbacca kicking some Empire butt, and again, it makes us just ever so slightly less patient for November 8.

Just about one more week, folks, and the teasing will finally come to an end. This morning, Rovio has released yet another gameplay trailer for the upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars game, featuring none other than some of our favorites, R2-D2 and C-3PO.

The game launches Nov. 8, so here we are, waiting as usual.

Not to sound too delusional, but for the first time in some 3 years, I find myself at least slightly interested in an Angry Birds game. Wookiee bird? Lightsabers? 4-legged walkers? I still can’t tell whether this game really excites me or puts a bad taste in my mouth. After viewing this newly released short from Rovio, I’m leaning towards the latter. Star Wars is one of my favorite movie series and coupling it with Angry Birds is something I’m still struggling with. Maybe by the time the game comes out I’ll have a more pleasant outlook towards it. After all, it is just a silly game, right?

The game arrives for Android on November 8.

We’ll be some of the first to admit that the Angry Birds series has lost its luster. There are too many variations of it, too many tie-ins to mainstream products, and too much in-your-faceness for our liking. Our feelings may have changed slightly when we saw the teaser for Angry Birds Star Wars, though. A part of us (Tim mostly) became instantly excited again. There’s just something about Star Wars combined with a silly cartoon or children’s product that amounts to pure gold. (Look at Legos?)

In today’s teaser, the Millennium Falcon makes its first appearance, equipped with a slingshot. How can that not get you excited for its November 8 release?

Last week, Rovio teased an image that lead us to believe there would be some type of Star Wars and Angry Birds themed goodness. This morning, we now know it is a full game and there will be a host of other swag such as animations and toys for kids. Set for November 8, Angry Birds Star Wars could possibly let players choose between the Rebellion and the Empire. Naturally, everything has some sort of bird or pig reference tied in. 

Rovio has also set up a very in-depth Tumblr page for the game which is actually pretty cute.

It’s Official, Angry Birds Star Wars Out On November 8 is a post from: Droid Life

This morning, Rovio is has many folks excited with the above image they released to their Twitter feed. As you can see, that bird is carrying a light saber, the favored weapon of the Jedi whom exist in the world of Star Wars. In the tweet, Rovio links to their Tumblr, which gives instructions for people to meet at Toys R Us at Times Square in New York on October 8th.

So, could Rovio be just making a toy line? I wouldn’t see them stopping there, as it wouldn’t shock me to see an add-on to Angry Birds Space, or possibly a whole new game called Angry Birds Star Wars. That would sell. We’re just days away fom Oct. 8, so we’ll keep you posted.
