AT&T HTC One (M8) Update to Android 4.4.3 Rolling Out Now

Not-so-hot on the heels of the firmware rollouts to T-Mobile and Sprint HTC One (M8) variants earlier summer, the AT&T-branded model is finally receiving OTA love in the form of an update to Android 4.4.3, plus an additional few application updates and optimizations.

The changelog isn’t too exciting, unfortunately, unless “security fixes” really float your boat.

HTC One (M8) on Verizon Receiving Android 4.4.3 in September, Will Finally Include Extreme Power Saving Mode

According to a Tweet sent from HTC Americas president, Jason Mackenzie, owners of the Verizon One (M8) should expect an update to Android 4.4.3 by mid-September. We had originally heard that a test of the update would happen around August 14, with the public push starting August 18 (today). Their VP of product, Mo Versi, noted today that they had to “re-spin” the update, so this month is out. No word on what the issue was that caused the update to be resubmitted, but that pushes the update out a couple of weeks and into next month.  (more…)

Sprint Rolling Out Android 4.4.3 Update to HTC One (M8)

It may not technically be the latest version of Android, which is currently Android 4.4.4, but HTC One (M8) users on Sprint will be pleased to hear their devices are receiving a minor update to the next best thing, plus a few other goodies.

The new firmware released today, 2.16.651.4, is based on Android 4.4.3, which packs miscellaneous improvements and fixes. In addition, the update adds an HD Voice indicator and support for WiFi Calling.  (more…)

DROID MAXX, ULTRA, and Mini Updates Another 3-5 Weeks Out Now That 4.4.4 is Available

Shortly after Google released Android 4.4.3 to the world, Motorola updated the Moto X through various carriers to the new build quicker than Google could to some of its own Nexus devices. The same couldn’t be said for the DROID line, though, which includes the MAXX, ULTRA, and Mini. Thankfully, Motorola’s David Schuster gave us an update on the situation, stating that all of those devices would be upgraded to Android 4.4.3 shortly, bypassing the 4.4.2 update they had yet to receive.

And then Google released Android 4.4.4 yesterday with an important security fix.  (more…)
