The T-Mobile Galaxy S4 is receiving its Android 4.3 update today. No, this isn’t Kit Kat. You would need a “4” in there to replace the “3.” But either way, it’s an update! Owners of the T-Mo variant of Samsung’s 2013 flagship will be bumped up to build M919UVUEMK2 after taking in the 781MB update. (more…)
Owners of Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 smartphones from Samsung have been patiently waiting for Android 4.3, with the updates finally rolling out about two weeks ago. But in a new case of bad news, multiple issues have arose for users, which has forced both Samsung and AT&T to pull the updates for the time being. The problems are centered around the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S4 and the I9300XXUGMG9 model of the Galaxy S3, so if you have been mashing your update button, you can stop now. (more…)
AT&T customers currently using a Galaxy S4 should be seeing an update to Android 4.3 this morning, as the OTA update started pushing out late last night. The update is to build JSS15J.1337UCUEMJ9, bringing with it plenty of new Android goodies, plus compatibility for Samsung’s smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. (more…)
We don’t have many Sony device owners here, but should at least get the message out for anyone that might be concerned. This morning, Sony discussed its plans to update several devices to Android 4.3, and a few devices to Android 4.4. As for Jelly Bean, it appears that Sony should have the Android 4.3 update available for seven different devices within the next month, which includes the Xperia Z, ZL, Z Ultra, and even the Tablet Z. According to Sprint’s support forums, the Galaxy Nexus is getting Android 4.3 today. The build is JRO03U.L700GJ04. No other details were provided, but it should happen before long. Obviously, this is for the Sprint model only and not the Verizon variant.
This is the first update the Sprint G-Nex has had since January of this year. That update was to Android 4.2.1.
Things are happening!
Verizon’s Galaxy S4 is now receiving Android 4.3 in a brand new update that went live moments ago. The update was approved this morning, bringing along Galaxy Gear Support, band 4 LTE, and some other tweaks along with the most current version of Android (for the time being) to Samsung’s 2013 flagship. We’re as surprised as anyone to see this update arrive first on a Verizon phone before any other carrier, but you won’t find us complaining.
To download the update head into Settings>More>About phone>Software update.
Cheers djgrundel, Patrick, and Scott!
Samsung confirmed to us this morning that Android 4.3 updates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy S3 would begin rolling out to U.S. variants as early as today. Since we received a screenshot of the potential timeline for those updates to happen from each carrier, with one showing Verizon’s GS4 variant receiving the update today, we have been on the lookout for clues. We think we found it on one of Samsung’s support pages for the VZW Galaxy S4. The update may be rolling out today after all. (more…)
