Recently, Google removed the Xperia Z Ultra GPE from Google Play, leaving only a few devices on the site for Android lovers to purchase. In a close-out sale, Expansys looks to be clearing their shelves of the device as well, pricing it at a complete steal of just $349.99. Just before Google I/O, we pointed out the fact that the majority of Google Play Edition devices on Google Play had become depleted of inventory, with only the One (M8) and Moto G showing as available for purchase. We weren’t sure what to make of it at the time, but as of today, Google has begun to wipe out devices that no longer have or haven’t had inventory for some time. (more…)
Google just dropped the price of the Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition by $200, for those interested in the behemoth-of-a-phone. Normally priced at $649, the Z Ultra and its 6.4-inch display haven’t exactly been the most popular of GPE phones, at least if you consider the lack of buzz amongst our community. But hey, at $449, phablet lovers be on alert – you may have a deal in front of you.
Sony issued a release today on its official blog, stating that Android 4.3 “Jelly Bean,” is now rolling out to Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra devices around the globe. Moments after going live with the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition, Google also went live with a white Nexus 7 and the Sony Z Ultra GPE. The Sony Z Ultra is most widely known as the Xperia Z Ultra, a massive 6.4-inch device that also runs a Snapdragon 800 processor. We’re talking 342ppi with a resolution of 1920×1080 that uses “similar” technology to a Sony Bravia TV. (more…)
