The Galaxy S8 unveiling is hours away, yet LG still has a few days to go before the G6 arrives in US carrier shops. To get out in front of the ridiculous wave of coverage and focus that is about to be laid upon Samsung, LG has dropped its first G6 TV commercial. It’s a 30-second TV spot, and no, it doesn’t contain Jason Statham.
While pre-orders for the LG G6 have already begun on Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and at Best Buy, we have been waiting on word for when T-Mobile’s would kick off. Well, we now have the answer. (more…)
In case you were hoping to get your LG G6 pre-order in this morning on a carrier other than Verizon, Sprint and AT&T have opened up their sales, too. (more…)
We weren’t expecting Verizon’s LG G6 pre-orders to go live until tomorrow, March 17, but Big Red surprised us this evening with availability right now. That means you can head over to Verizon’s site at the link below, drop in your pre-order, claim your freebies, and own one of the best phones of the year.
As a reminder, if you pre-order from Verizon, you have a chance to walk away with a free 43-inch LG Smart TV ($349 value) and a free Google Home. Details on all of that can be found at this post. (more…)
After a bit of a wait, we now know when we can pre-order the LG G6, when it’ll arrive in stores, which carrier has good promos, and exactly how much it will cost at most carriers. Yes, my friends, we have LG G6 launch information!

AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint have both announced pre-orders for the early hours of March 17, so if you have been waiting, your chance to order the G6 is almost here. It’s already March and the US market has yet to see a major flagship launch from the larger Android OEMs. While a couple have been announced (LG G6 and HTC U Ultra), there are another couple scheduled for unveiling on March 29, those being the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ from Samsung. However, thanks to various leaks and reports, it’s possible many potential buyers have already made up their minds on which phone they’re leaning towards.
To sum up what we have so far, the LG G6 is a huge change up from last year’s G5, featuring water resistance and a 18:9 QHD display. Pricing and exact availability is not yet known, but expect it in April.
The Galaxy S8, at least from what we’ve seen, has a very interesting hardware design with hardly any bezel around its display. It also seems like a safe assumption that it will be water resistant and have a crazy-good camera, too.
As for the U Ultra from HTC, it was announced mid-January and we’re still waiting on an exact launch date for the US. For specs, it has a secondary ticker display, no water resistance, Snapdragon 821, no headphone jack, and a large 5.7″ QHD LCD display. Pricing is confirmed, though, unlocked starting at $749.
Let us know which way you’re leaning!
As I always say, a flagship phone is only as good as its default wallpaper (Editor’s Note: I don’t actually say that, but I should). In the case of the LG G6, it’s pretty darn good. As it turns out, LG took a couple of months to create the image, relying on physical mediums for its creation, not digital renders as you might expect. (more…)
