HTC Device Headed to Verizon Stops by GLBenchmark – 1080p Display, Model 6435LVW, and a New Snapdragon S4?

Hold on to your pants, people. A new HTC device, with Verizon written all over it and codenamed DLX or dlx, popped up at famed benchmarking site GLBenchmark recently and has specs that are guaranteed to blow your mind. First, we can see the model number is HTC6435, making it sound like the follow-up to the Rezound which was HTC6425. Other than model number though, the Rezound and any other HTC phone in history will fail to compare.  (more…)

LG Unveils World’s First 5″ 1080p Display With 440ppi for Smartphones

Are you ready to have a TV in your pocket? LG wants you to with their new 5″ 1080p smartphone display that rocks a massive 440ppi. Announced this morning, this display has set a new bar for all display makers to try and hit. It seems like yesterday we were talking about the first sets of 720p devices and now we have to start thinking beyond that? We may all need a pair of glasses to read anything at a 1920×1080 resolution since even icons will look tiny, but how fun are the macro shots going to be?
