Samsung Teases and Briefly Shows Off the Galaxy Nexus Ahead of CTIA Event

by: | posted 10.05.11 | News, Videos

Hello there beautiful phone.  In a video released tonight by Samsung, the Galaxy Nexus aka Nexus Prime aka mystery Ice Cream Sandwich device was teased as the next “BIG” thing to hit the tech world. Not that any of us were assuming we would see anything besides the next Nexus at their “Google Episode” CTIA event, but we weren’t expecting to see a tease this massive at this moment.

The timing sure couldn’t have been better though.  With the iPhone 4S getting crushed by media across the globe, it looks like Google and Samsung played this one perfectly.

We are definitely getting close now. CyanogenMod 7 is booting up on the DROID3 and people are feeling the excitement. In the video description it says that there are a few non-working things, but that work is continuing, and they should have all the kinks worked out soon.

We love this community.

HTC Rhyme and Pantech Breakout Receive Video Overviews

Two of Verizon’s newest devices – HTC Rhyme and Pantech Breakout – received their standard video overviews this morning.  The Rhyme walks through some of HTC’s new Sense 3.5, the accessory pack for the phone, how easily it takes pictures of bikers, and reminds you to always ignore calls from work.

The Breakout video takes you into a world of pure dance and social awesomeness.  If you need a phone that is hot in the break dancing scene, then look no further than the Breakout.  It’s also amazing at finding rooftop parties, sending texts to your crew, and bringing the “cool.”  I can’t believe I just typed all of that with a semi-straight face.

HTC Rhyme Now Available From Verizon, Six-Armed Woman Included

by: | posted 09.28.11 | Commercials, News

The glowing charm phone aka the HTC Rhyme, is now available at Verizon for $199 on 2-year contract.  Clearly geared towards women, this phone comes with its own docking station, tangle-free earbuds, and snazzy charm notifier to let you know when you have an incoming call.  The specs won’t blow your mind, but they aren’t supposed to.  It’s all about style and function with this phone – a semi-bold new concept from any phone manufacturer.

Oh, and check out this new commercial that just went live.  It’s…well, I don’t want to spoil it and will just ask that you watch it yourselves.

Nexus S Purchased on eBay Gives Us a 2-Minute Ice Cream Sandwich Preview (Video)

by: | posted 09.28.11 | News, Videos

It was only a matter of time before someone jumped on eBay to buy a phone only to find that it came pre-loaded with the latest and for-the-most part unseen version of Android aka Ice Cream Sandwich.  The Nexus S pictured above and on video below was just released over at Engadget, giving us a fabulous look at Android 4.0 and all of its cyan-greenish tints, Honeycomb lock screen, recently used app scroller, and more.

HTC Vigor “Guided Tours” Videos Pulled from RUU

With the RUU for the HTC Vigor getting leaked into the wild, the unpacking of and poking around in it has already begun.  One of the things found was the set of videos that Verizon has been including in their “Guided Tours” bloatware app.  You won’t see anything incredibly juicy (it’s a bunch of set-up clips), but there is the  video up top which shows the battery cover coming off to allow for a SIM card to be inserted for that 4G LTE goodness.

There is also the video that we attached below which shows a quick walk-through of the new Sense transitions and the Verizon bloatware section in the app drawer.  Again, nothing crazy, but at least another confirmation on the look of the device, the fact that it has 4G LTE, and also how disappointing it would be to not see this device come out as the Incredible HD.

After disappearing for 4 months or so, SHADOWGUN has returned in an official trailer with one purpose, to give you a glimpse at what we can expect when this puppy is paired with a Kal-El quad-core processor. We should point out that the version in this trailer is for the iPad and iPhone, so imagine a much more in-depth and graphic intense one on Android.  Yes, that’s me assuming a lot, but knowing what NVIDIA has planned for their next batch of processors let’s me do that.
