Samsung Releases Their Glimpse Of The Mobile Future, Flexible and Resizable AMOLED Screens Are It

The video above shows Samsung’s take on the future of mobile technology.  There are tons of really neat features that Samsung touches on and we hope that all of them make their way to the market sometime before the year 2020.  The imagined device sports a transparent screen, 3-D augmented reality capabilities, real-time worldly translations and so much more.

Not only does it have endlessly fantastic features, but the hardware itself is quite intriguing.  A bendable AMOLED screen with the ability to stretch to whatever size your needs may be.  Wouldn’t that save everyone a ton of hassle?  Does anyone have any thoughts on the future of the mobile world?

We are getting close, y’all. Shipments of the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon have reportedly been dispatched to stores, retail packaging possibly revealed, and a release date of December 9 is looking hotter by the minute. We know that targeted dates and launches have been rumored for almost 2 months now, so it may not be official, but it certainly feels like it’s about to be.

And to help fill your need for all things Nexus, we have one last video from a source of ours that shows the device in action. You get a look at that ultra-fast shutter speed in the camera, G-Nex wallpapers (download), and the factory reset Android animation. Seems like a perfect way to end this series of clips. More here, here and here.

by: | posted 12.05.11 | News, Videos

Nope, we still do not have a release date for the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon even with multiple rumors pointing to this Friday as likely being the day. What we do have, is one of our favorite tipsters sending in another handful of pictures and a couple of speed tests. We know that you have seen more than enough of these already, including our posting of the first ever hands on with the device from Samsung’s shop in NYC, but it’s the VZW Nexus, and we know you always want more.

So to kick off the week, check out two more pictures below, plus a look at some 4G LTE speed domination.

“He doesn’t know how to use the 3 sea shells.” – Demolition Man

Been wondering what the 3 metal prongs on the side of the Galaxy Nexus will be used for? We assumed accessories, but thanks to a series of videos out of MobileFun, we get to see exactly how those accessories will put those prongs to work. A new landscape desktop dock is featured along with a battery charger for those of us that are forced to carry backups because of LTE’s never ending thirst for juice. The portrait and car docks are also featured, which according to our sources, are expected to be at $59.99 and $39.99 respectively.

In the last 8 or so hours, a batch of Galaxy Nexus stuff popped up online that doesn’t necessarily confirm that a launch is near, but it certainly paints a pretty good picture of a device that is. First up, we have the LTE version of the device starring in another video from one of our long time sources. It’s in a fairly low coverage 4G LTE area, but as you’lll see in the clip, it still manages 10MB down and 8MP up. We may have another one later with the device in a better coverage area, so watch out for that.

And now onto some of the signs that have us feeling better than ever about an G-Nex release.

Samsung Phone Owner to Herd of iPhone Sheep Waiting in Line – “Why Don’t You Guys Get 4G Phones?”

Come on admit it, these new Samsung commercials are pretty good. You have a herd of soon-to-be next-gen iPhone owners, obsessing over what BGR the blogworld has tossed out into the rumor mill for launch day. Along comes a Samsung Galaxy SII owner with their massive white device that happens to catch the eye of said sheep. A conversation is struck up, and the word “4G” is included. As you all know by now, there isn’t an iPhone on the planet that can run on 4G. Enter punch line.

Update:  So apparently this piece was cut from the full version of the ad we posted a week ago and made into its own ad. Forgive us, but Samsung sent it over like it was something spicy and new. Just enjoy. :P

Secret “Rocket Launcher” Discovered in Ice Cream Sandwich

Oh that Android Team, such a creative bunch. The Nyan Android is not the only Easter egg tucked away in Ice Cream Sandwich. No sir, a space-inspired “Rocket Launcher” was also included, but can only be found by looking through the available activities on the phone. What I mean by that, is you have to use a 3rd party app like Any Cut or LauncherPro that can turn activities into shortcuts. Once you do, the video above can be achieved.

Tap once to slow the rocket ship, tap an icon to launch it.
