New Thunderbolt Software Fix Released, Device is Ready to Go?

by: | posted 02.28.11 | News, Root, Rumors, Thunderbolt

News over the weekend was filled with new HTC Thunderbolt rumors including one claim that the device was really struggling with battery life.  A firmware fix was to be released “soon” that would hopefully address the battery/radio problem, and guess what?  Our friends over at 911 Sniper leaked one out this morning.  I should also point out that this comes on the heels of an industry “friend” who let slip that the phone is actually signed off on now and is ready to be shipped.  Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean two days from now, but could mean by March 10th like that massively leaked photo seemed to hint at.

Should be just a few days now.  Oh, and let’s hope we see those commercials pop back up, only with a date at the end this time instead of “Coming soon!”

It looks like the final RUU for the HTC Thunderbolt has been leaked just 12 days before the phone is supposed to hit stores.  We’ve seen at least two of these since the phone was announced at CES (here and here), so you might as well grab this one for your collection.  Oh, if you missed our news on pricing from yesterday, you can check it out here.

HTC Thunderbolt RUU and System Dump Leak

by: | posted 01.08.11 | News, Root, Thunderbolt

The same day the HTC Thunderbolt was announced, the RUU and the PG05IMG snuck out via 911HTC, a site that seems to push out files for phones like no other.  These files are quite large, include a bunch of new bloatware apps like Bitbop, MobiTV, MOG, Rhapsody, Rock Band, plus some live wallpapers.  You can bet that ROMs are already in the works, but more importantly, we’re hoping this means that the device is headed to stores much sooner than the “March” timeline VZW gave us on Thursday.

To get the files directly from the source, you can use the links below:

If that’s to much work, and it likely will be, then head over to XDA Developers or Android Central for additional mirrors.

And don’t forget to check out our Thunderbolt hands-on in full HD.
