Thanks to the unlocking of the HTC Rezound’s bootloader, we have seen so much developer love for this device. It’s funny how just a little bootloader can make a device so desirable. If you have been looking to have Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC’s Sense on your device then be sure to check out these to builds that are said to be almost 100%. As far as we can tell, this is built off of the leaked ICS-Sense ROM that leaked last week.

What sounds like a very early Ice Cream Sandwich build for the HTC Rezound has been leaked this morning. I say “early” because from the what we have read, the build is a mix of HTC Sense 3.5 and some stock ICS icons and images. While we no longer have a Rezound in house to try and flash this, all signs point to it being unusable on a daily basis. This isn’t all that surprising though, since we weren’t actually expecting a release of this to the phone so soon, but at least we can see HTC is puttin’ in work on it. Flash at your own risk, folks.
And is it just me, or is the Rezound becoming more and more attractive by the day? A new $199 price, unlockable bootloader, one of the most beautiful screens we have ever seen on a mobile device, and the best camera of any Verizon phone, are making this phone worth another look.
Now that HTC has unlocked the Rezound’s bootloader, you can be sure that we are going to see a huge influx of developer support for this beastly device. It’s only been a few days and we can already find a few ROMs that will definitely interest Rezound owners, including ones that will take away HTC’s Sense skin completely, remove the Verizon bloatware, and plenty of other great tweaks.
We have been able to locate a handful of flashable ROMs over at RootzWiki – you can see the entire list here.
Cheers Franky J!
HTC Rezound owners, get your butts over to HTCDev.com immediately before this gets shut down.
According to a variety of forums, the Rezound’s bootloader can be unlocked using the tools provided at HTCDev. You are left with S-ON afterwards, but to my knowledge, that’s the way all HTC unlocked phones are left after using these tools.
It should be noted that you won’t find the Rezound listed as a compatible device, but if you follow all of the instructions laid out, your phone will indeed get the unlock treatment.
