Android 4.2.1 Update Rolling Out to Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 (Update: Nexus 7 Too)

Google began pushing an update to the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 last night as Android build 4.2.1 (JOP40D). It’s a tiny file at 1.1MB. So far, the only real change that has been found is a fix to the People app, which means that December has returned after last week’s debacle. No word yet on a Nexus 7 update, but it can’t be far behind. (more…)

Nexus 10 Toolkit Released – Time to Unlock That Bootloader and Obtain Root Access

As soon as we wrote up that a Nexus 4 toolkit was released, the emails started coming in that the same developer also released a Nexus 10 toolkit. Go figure. For anyone who doesn’t know, these toolkits will help either beginners who are learning about their tablets or the seasoned pros who simply don’t want to do any heavy lifting. They will help with unlocking your bootloader, rooting the device, installing a custom recovery, and a whole lot more with hardly any effort on your part.

You will need a PC, but once you download and install the drivers and software, you’re pretty much good to go. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty, head on over to the XDA thread and check it out.
