The Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon will finally arrive in stores tomorrow, but if you were looking to beat Big Red’s $199 on-contract price, Amazon is almost always a great place to look. And sure enough, Amazon is already offering the device for $179.99 with 2-year contract for both new customers and upgrades. In the past, we have seen Amazon only offer early discounts to new customers while leaving out upgrades, but that doesn’t appear to be the case this time around. So if you had your sights set on the GS4 (our review), think about this deal.

Amazon Selling Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon for $179 for New Customers and Upgrades is a post from: Droid Life

The HTC DROID DNA, which could easily be considered Verizon’s best available phone (our review), can be had for free thanks to a new coupon code and referral program that Big Red is running through May 21. All you have to do, is click through on the source link below, type in your email address, and wait for your coupon code to arrive (should take only a couple of minutes). Once you have it, you can print out the code and redeem it inside a Verizon or store, or use it during checkout through their online shop. 

Verizon is currently charging $199 on new 2-year contract for the DNA, so this promo will save you almost $200. In order to receive the phone for free you do need to sign a new contract.

The promo also allows you to refer friends who are not currently Verizon customers. Should you refer them, Verizon will give you $25 per.

Keep in mind that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available starting May 23 and that there is still a chance that Verizon carries a version of the HTC One down the road.

Verizon is currently hosting a “Red Hot Deal Days” event from today through May 12 (this Sunday), so if you were in the market for a new Big Red smartphone, now wouldn’t be a bad time to look. Well, assuming you aren’t interested in the Galaxy S4, since that won’t be out until May 30. But if the GS4 isn’t on your radar, you’ll find deals on the RAZR MAXX HD and regular RAZR HD, RAZR M, Incredible 4G LTE, Blackberry Z10 (hah!), and more.

The DROID line is headlining this show, with the RAZR MAXX HD at $149 on contract, RAZR HD at $49, and RAZR M and Incredible 4G LTE for free. The Samsung Galaxy S3 (16GB model) is also there for $99 on new 2-year contract.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is up on Daily Steals this morning for a pretty decent price of $679. This would be the unlocked GT-I9500 model, which also means Exynos Octa processor. As many of you know, the Octa processor is not included in the U.S. retail model that ships to carriers, so this is somewhat of special event. At $679, you may be thinking that the phone is ridiculously high-priced, but unlocked phone re-sellers like Negri or Expansys are selling this phone for close to $750 and beyond. 

This model also comes with 16GB of internal storage, 13MP camera, and Android 4.2.2. You can choose from either the white or black versions of the phone.

Free shipping is a part of the deal.

On a related note, the specs list out that this phone has LTE that is “market dependent,” but to my knowledge, it won’t work on any of the LTE markets in the U.S. In fact, this model (I9500) may not even have LTE at all. The I9505 is apparently the LTE version with the Octa processor. You will be able to jump on AT&T’s HSPA+ network, though.

HTC is doing everything in its power to get you to switch to their new flagship, the One, over the competition. This may be there last shot at a comeback as Samsung’s brand continues to grow, LG is posting record smartphone sales quarters, and Motorola has the backing of Google on their side. They have already launched a nationwide tour to show off the device in pubic places, a handful of which include concerts with artists like Pharrell. To continue on with their promotion, they are making this weekend the weekend to upgrade to the One. 

The deal is called “One Phone, One Weekend, One Premium Upgrade.” Should you choose to buy the HTC One from today (May 2) through May 5, HTC will give you up to $375 back on eligible smartphones that you trade in. As one would expect, the iPhone 5 is worth the most, followed by the iPhone 4S and then Galaxy S3. In the image above, you can see some of the other approximated values of potential trade-in devices.

So this is how it works – you buy the One, cruise to HTC’s trade-up site, enter the promo code “HTC100,” and then enter information about the device you are trading in (or “up”). HTC will give you a quote on its value, which you can accept if you like. Should you accept, a shipping label will be there for printing, so that you can send in your device. Return your phone by 6/15/13 and HTC will send you a prepaid Visa card.

With the Samsung Galaxy S4 arriving towards the end of the month, Verizon has gone ahead and slashed the price of the Galaxy S3 to $99 on contract, likely in an attempt to move left-over stock. While Big Red has yet to even acknowledge the fact that the Galaxy S4 exists or that they will carry it, price cuts on previous year models are almost always a good sign. 

Also, keep in mind that we have seen their variant cruise through the FCC already, sporting all of the LTE and global roaming bands you would expect out of a 2013 top-of-the-line Android device. It’s definitely coming to Verizon, we just don’t know when.

AT&T and US Cellular have already announced their own pre-orders for April 16, T-Mobile around May 1, but none gave a definitive shipping date. Maybe Verizon is waiting until they have a confirmation from Samsung on when their customers can pick up this new flagship? Or maybe they are simply still testing…and testing…and testing.

Today, eBay is featuring a refurbished 32GB Nexus 7 for a price of $189, which is cheaper than you’ll find anywhere. According to the listing, this has been “manufacturer refurbished,” meaning it has been “professionally restored to working order” by the manufacturer or approved vendor. Shipping is also free.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is weeks away from landing in our laps, so naturally, last year’s model is starting to see bigger discounts than ever. Today, over at eBay, you can pick up the international unlocked version of the Galaxy S3 in either white or black with 16GB of internal storage for $379.99. Oh, shipping is also free and the device is brand new. 

While some may roll their eyes at least year’s model, the Galaxy S3 is still one of the best phones on the market. I pick mine up from time to time if I’m looking to feed my AT&T LTE addiction and always put it back down impressed. Multiple friends and family members also still love their GS3s even after having them for a year. Remember, that this phone was one of the first on the planet to launch with 2GB of RAM. You can expand that minimal 16GB internal storage amount as well, thanks to a microSD slot that supports 64GB cards.
