Rockstar Games: Max Payne for Android Delayed, Should Be Out “Next Week Or So”

by: | posted 04.26.12 | Apps, Games, News

A tweet sent out from Rockstar Game’s official Twitter says that Android users have to be patient for a bit longer if waiting for the release of Max Payne to the Android OS. No say as to what has caused the delay, but we can assume they’ve stumbled upon some bugs and are applying some emergency fixes before release. I don’t mind the wait, as long as this game is flawless when it’s released.

Stoked for Max Payne?

by: | posted 04.26.12 | Apps, News, Videos

Taptu for Android has received an update in the Play Store. Users can now set up streams on any device by using a social network or Google account instead of having to register with Taptu, which makes sharing and reading great content on multiple devices a whole lot easier. It has also been given a lovely UI make over which looks pretty hot on devices running Ice Cream Sandwich. Included in the update are some new widgets to help fill out your homescreens in case you had troubles already doing so.

Dark Meadow Arrives for Android, Powered by the Unreal Engine and Evil Spirits

by: | posted 04.26.12 | Apps, Games, News, Reviews, Videos

Phosphor’s Dark Meadow is now available in the Play Store for select Tegra-powered Android devices. We have been fortunate enough to have the game for a few days and there is no doubt that it is one of more beautifully designed games I have had the pleasure of playing on a mobile platform. You awake in an abandoned hospital, but as you come to find out through exploring the halls and rooms, you are not alone. A single voice through a loudspeaker is your only guide, whose sole purpose is make sure you destroy the witch that has you both trapped there.

Zynga announced today that they will take their iOS hit ZombieSmash! to the global Android market (err…Play Store) at some point “this week.” The game is already available in Canada of all places, but won’t be available elsewhere until, well again, sometime “this week.” The game itself, is like a mash-up between tower defense titles, Plants v. Zombies, and Splatterhouse. There are 4 different game modes, upgrades and powerups, and even a live wallpaper.

Update:  The game is live in the Play Store now. Go get it.

Google Maps Updated, Scale Bar and Zoom Buttons Moved From Labs Into Official Settings

by: | posted 04.25.12 | Apps, News

Google Maps has received a minor update today in the Play Store, which includes added zoom buttons and a scale bar right onto the map itself. Also included in the update is the addition of elevation data to the “Measure” laboratory. I guess if pinch-to-zoom was frustrating you, then this update is perfect.

Scalado Album Released on Android, It’s an Ultra Fast Gallery App With Some Location Tricks Up Its Sleeve

by: | posted 04.25.12 | Apps, News

Back around MWC, we showed you an app called Scalado Remove which was a nifty little app that allowed you to remove unwanted objects from pictures you had just taken. The app was essentially created to be licensed by OEMs, so don’t expect to see it in the Play Store any time soon. It’s creators didn’t stop there though. They still wanted to create a public offering after receiving much praise over Remove and have done that today with an app called Scalado Album.

Everyone’s favorite game about pissed off avians in space has received an update this morning. You will find a new ice planet containing ten brand spanking new levels. As much as people thought this title was over-hyped, I think it delivered rather well in the entertainment department and this update is completely welcomed.

Still loving the birds in space?
