I may have just stumbled onto the case of my dreams. Say hello to the Ringke SLIM in white for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. As someone who tends to go nekkid on the case front, this is exactly what I have been looking for. It covers the back to give me a new color without adding much bulk and leaves all of the physical buttons on the side fully exposed. Most importantly though, it doesn’t overlap on top of that big beautiful 4.65″ screen like so many others. It also has replacement rubber stoppers for the USB and headphone ports to give your bottom half a flush white look and to keep dust out, a leather inside so that it won’t scratch, and has a some sort of coating to make the back non-slippery. 

The extended battery won’t work with this case. Will fit the GSM version.

The case is not the cheapest on the market at $25.99, but you do get a set of replacement rubber stoppers, screen cleaner, and a screen protector in the package if you are into that sort of thing. Gallery below.

We are well aware that many of you are accessory hounds. Whenever you purchase a new phone, our inbox fills up with questions about this dock or that case or if this battery is worth the extra couple of bucks. But is there something in particular that you purchase before even walking out of the store with your new phone? Is there an accessory that you feel makes your smartphone experience complete? A portable battery charger is something that almost everyone should own in this day and age. With LTE radios and massive HD screens sucking the life out of our phones in just a few hours at times, you may need quick on-the-go power on a regular basis. There are a variety of options out there, but after having the kuel f60Q for a few weeks now, I can easily say that this should make your short list of portable chargers to consider.

First, it’s pretty damn stylish for a portable charger. Some of the options we have seen in the past tend to be massive black tanks that you would be embarrassed to pull out in public. The kuel f60Q looks clean, minimal, and might even impress your friends at an LTE hand-holding spritzer party. 

But the point of this device is not looks, so let’s talk about how it performs. It packs a 6,000 mAh battery cell that can recharge a standard phone around 3 times before needing to refuel. It works on both Android and Apple products, so if you invest in the kuel f60Q, you know that it won’t be locked down to just a couple of your personal tech gadgets. Its charging port weighs in at 10W, which is enough juice to get your phone charged in almost no time, hence the “quick charger” name that is embedded on the side. To give you an idea, I dropped by Galaxy Nexus down to about 15%, plugged it into the kuel for about an hour and a half and was at 97%. That’s as good as a wall charger.

What about the price? It’s not cheap. At $124.99 there are less expensive options out there that have larger battery cells. So if you are in the market for a portable charger (and as I mentioned earlier, you should be), you will need to decide if you want a slim, sleek, and stylish option that is easily packable and will charge your phone in no time, or if you want to save a few bucks and go with a tank that may get you twice the life.

From day 1 with the Galaxy Nexus, many of you (including the DL crew) have been on the hunt for a Google-branded replacement battery cover. In fact, we tried swapping our GSM cover with the Verizon-branded cover the minute we got the device and came up empty. Something about having a “Nexus” without a Google logo on the back just drives some of us die-hards nuts.

Since then, we have searched the web for possible replacements. After all, accessory companies could probably make a pretty penny off of these skinny pieces of plastic should they make one that would actually fit. So far, none have worked including the one we have pictured up top that was purchased from Amazon. This post is really just a heads-up to not purchase it even though it says it will fit the SCH-I515 aka the LTE Nexus. As you can see from the picture, when you get it snapped into place, it doesn’t fit properly and bows a bit in the middle. Also, I took a knife to it a number of times to try and shave off pieces in order to get this sucker to fit and still ran into issues. At almost $20 a pop, proceed with caution.

From back in our “OG” days, we sort of wrote off cases as we tend to enjoy our phones naked for the most part. For whatever reason though, this weekend, I got the itch and started doing a bit of case shopping. There are so many out there to choose from that you almost always need a recommendation in order to narrow your search. 2100mAh at $25 not enough to get your Galaxy Nexus through a day? Seidio has you covered with their newly released 3800mAh behemoth that puts the DROID RAZR MAXX’s 3300 juicer to shame. OK that’s a lie, since Motorola actually maintained a sleek and minimal size with theirs. This Seidio extended battery will give your G-Nex a lovely lady hump. Again I lie, this thing is not lovely, but it will last a long time.

Oh, it also doesn’t support NFC.

There are more than a few of us that have been eyeing UK retailers on the daily to see if they have flipped their “Coming soon!” signs for Galaxy Nexus accessories to “In Stock!” With the U.S. plastic piece of junk car dock disappointing everyone and the HDMI dock no where in sight, ordering from across the pond may be our only option to get real accessories. Well, we are going to have to wait longer according to Clove UK. They were once projecting a late January launch, but have now switched to the end of February. Also, sites like Expansys are hoping to have the 3-pin car dock in stock this month here in the U.S., however, we wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t make it either. MobileFun and Amazon UK have pushed their dates out as well.

We have talked about this deal time and time again, but we really want to make sure that everyone jumps on it. This extended battery may not double the standard, but at $25, it’s worth having the extra juice and extra battery as backup.

Smartphones are so 2011.  This year it’s all about the smartwatch.  If you have been looking to combine your watch and your smartphone, then definitely give i’m Watch a look.  i’m Watch has combined all your phone features into a classy looking watch that fits just perfectly right on your wrist.  With a dedicated Bluetooth connection, i’m Watch can make calls, check emails, and all the other great features you would expect from a smart device.

The watch was designed in Italy and it shows.  With classy colors and silicone bands, the i’m Watch is definitely a conversation starter with anyone next to you.  Depending on which color options and materials you choose, price varies.  But the pricing starts at about $350.  The watch runs Android 1.6 and I don’t think it’s the type of device that you should worry about being updated to Ice Cream Sandwich anytime soon. We had a few minutes to play with the product and you can definitely tell that the device runs Android 1.6. You can feel a bit of lag scrolling from screen to screen, but let’s hope that the company who makes the watch has a few more kinks to work out before they officially launch the watch for global sales. If you really need to try and get your hands on the HDMI docking station for the Galaxy Nexus which we just showed off earlier, you can try and place an order through the MyVerizon app.  Thanks to a reader’s tip, if you scroll through the available accessories on Verizon’s mobile site through the MyVerizon app, you will be able to add the dock to your cart and then purchase it.  We have already received email confirmation, but we have a feeling it will be cancelled by Big Red.

For a while now, we have seen the dock on Verizon’s site, listed as Out Of Stock.  Verizon’s mobile site may not reflect this.  So if you happen to order the dock which goes for $60, then cross your fingers that you will receive tracking info as well.  If not, Verizon will cancel the order and we are back to square one.
