A reader of ours received a shipment of Android mini-collectibles that from what we gathered, have never been released before. The two that he has multiples of are pictured above as a doctor and an athlete/tennis player. He is willing to part with some and has posted them up on eBay in case any of the mini-collectible collectors in the building are interested. Could they be a part of Series 3 or were they axed from previous box sets? Tough to tell, but we definitely want some for our own personal collections.

HTC One X Review [Unlocked]
HTC had a rough ending to 2011, so to kick off their 2012, they released the One Series of Android phones, including the flagship One X which we are about to dive deep into. With a new outlook on design, a less-intrusive take on Android skinning, and a focus on impressive hardware, this phone is one to “ooh” and “aww” over on paper and in pictures. There are few competitors that have produced phones in the last 12 months that can match the overall package of the One X, however, one question remains – is this phone capable of bringing HTC back from a dark and dreary place and to the forefront of the Android race once again? Let’s find out.
Looking For Tweegram on Android? It Doesn’t Exist, but Textgram Will Get You Similar Results
If you became an Instagram user once it was released on Android, then you probably noticed images popping up from our iOS counterparts through an app call Tweegram. The app itself allows you to type out a Tweet and then post it onto a square background that can then be submitted as an image to Instagram. It’s a pretty silly idea actually and one that I will likely never understand. But it is what it is, and people seem to love it. If you were looking for it though, you won’t find it on Android just yet. Tweegram is an exclusive to iOS, which in other words means it’s like a country club for the elite and not for us poor people.
Don’t worry, you do have an option and it’s called Textgram. It works exactly the same as Tweegram from my understanding, is free, and already has close to 500,000 downloads. So there you have it – get to Tweeting filtered Tweets…weird.
Treemaker is Like a Zen Cut the Rope, But With an Awesome Soundtrack
Cut the Rope and Angry Birds knockoffs are a dime a dozen these days. Rarely do we find a game that mimics either of their style, but then takes it beyond into something that plays with the best of them, yet looks and sounds as good if not more beautiful. Treemaker is one of those games. Previously a hit on iOS and just recently released on Android, this is one of those games that you should definitely try out, especially since it is free. The graphics are minimal yet detailed, the music is on point in a zen-like manner, and the difficulty is enough to keep you going for a while.
Chrome for Android Receives Update – Requesting Desktop Sites, Bookmarks as Shortcuts, and Proxy Support Included
Chrome for Android received an update this morning, bringing with it the requesting of desktop or mobile sites, ability to add bookmarks to your home screens, and more. There aren’t quick controls yet, but at least we are seeing regular updates to one of the best Android browsers available. The app is now available in 31 languages and in all countries that support the Google Play store.
Changes:
- You can now request the desktop version of a website, in case you would rather not view the mobile version.
- You can now add bookmarks as shortcuts on your home screen, so you can get to your favorite sites faster.
- Choose your favorite apps to handle links opened in Chrome.
- Have a proxy setup for Wi-Fi access? You can now use Chrome with the system proxy configured in Android settings.

Gmail Goes Down! For Many Google Apps and Regular Gmail Users (Updated)
Gmail and mail through Google Apps is down for a number of people today. The reports started an hour or two ago with the outage still affecting many. From what we have gathered, this is also causing Gmail apps to stop receiving mail. You may not see an error through the app, but you will want to check when the last time was that you received an email.
As you can see from the Gapps status page, Google is aware of the “service disruption.” If you experience a code 93 “Temporarily unavailable” – you are not alone.
Somehow I’ve been lucky this time around and can access everything, but both Eric and Tim are struggling to access at least one of their accounts.
Update 10:31AM: We are hearing that service has been restored for most of you. Check your accounts!
Cheers Lonnnie and everyone else!
Gaming Through Google Glasses, Could It Look Like This?
If you had a pair of the new Android-powered glasses from Google’s “Project Glass,” could you imagine what gaming would be like through them? This is obviously a look waaaaaay into the future, but we thought it was at least fun enough to share. Think real-world Battlefield mashed-up with that original Project Glass commercial.
